What is Belrapzo?

Belrapzo is a treatment for chronic lymphocytic leukemia. It can also be used to treat B-cell indolent non-Hodgkin's lymphoma when other treatments have failed to provide treatment for this disease. Belrapzo is also used for reasons not mentioned in this guideline for medication.

Side effects of Belrapzo

Seek medical attention immediately when you are experiencing symptoms warning signs of an allergic response (hives, breathing difficulties, and swelling in your throat or face) or an extreme skin reaction (fever or sore throat, burning of your eyes, skin irritation, or red or purple itching that can cause peeling and blisters). Consult a doctor in the event of a serious drug reaction that affects various parts of your body. Symptoms may include an itch on your skin or fever, swollen glands, muscle pains, abnormal bruising, severe weakness, or yellowing of the eye or skin. Belrapzo could result in the development of a brain infection that could lead to the loss of a disability or even death. Consult your physician when you are experiencing issues with your speech, thoughts, or vision, as well as movements of your muscles. These signs can become more severe quickly.

Belrapzo may cause serious side effects. Contact your physician immediately. If you suffer from:

  • Chills, fever, and itching within or shortly after the injection.

Common adverse effects of Belrapzo include:

  • The fever, itching, and mouth ulcers; difficulty breathing.

Before you take this drug

You shouldn't be treated with Belrapzo if you are allergic to polyethylene glycol, Belrapzo propylene glycol, or mannitol (Osmitrol).

Speak to your doctor if you have ever suffered from:

  • Tuberculosis.

  • If you're a male, use effective birth control when your partner is capable of becoming pregnant. Continue using birth control for a minimum of 3 months following the last dose.

This medication can affect fertility (the ability to have kids) in men. But it is crucial to utilize birth control to avoid pregnancy since Belrapzo could cause harm to an unborn baby. Avoid breastfeeding during the course of this medication and for at least one week following the last dose.

How to take Belrapzo?

Belrapzo can be given as an injection into a vein. Your healthcare professional will offer the injection. Belrapzo is generally prescribed for two consecutive days every 21–28 days. Your physician will decide the duration of treatment with this medication.

There are other medications to reduce certain adverse side effects from bendamustine. Contact your physician if you are experiencing any pain, burning, or swelling in the area of your IV needle after the medication is administered. Belrapzo impacts the immune system. You could contract infections more frequently, even severe or fatal infections. Your doctor should check on you regularly.
