What is Enablex?
Enablex reduces muscle spasms in the urinary tract and bladder.Enablex is a medication used to treat symptoms of an overactive bladder, like frequent or apprehensive urine leaks, as well as the condition of incontinence (urine leakage).Enablex can also be used for other purposes not mentioned in this guideline.
Side effects of Enablex
Contact a medical professional immediately. If you notice any of the following symptoms that indicate an allergy reaction, Enablex: hives; difficulty breathing; and swelling of your lips, face, or tongue.Stop taking Enablex and consult your physician immediately if you suffer from:
- Constipation or stomach pain that is severe;
- Confusion, hallucinations;
- Very little or no urine;
- Discomfort or burning after you urinate, or
- Indicators of dehydration: feeling extremely thirsty, hot, or hungry; not being able to urinate or sweat heavily; or dry and hot skin.
Common Enablex adverse reactions could include: - Nausea, indigestion;
- Constipation;
- Headache, dizziness;
- Dry mouth or
- Blurred vision.

Warnings
The use of Enablex is not recommended. If you suffer from untreated or uncontrolled narrow-angle glaucoma, a stomach condition that causes slow emptying, or if you are having trouble getting your bladder empty,Avoid getting dehydrated or too hot when exercising and during hot temperatures. Enablex reduces sweating and makes you more susceptible to suffering from heat stroke.Stop taking this medication and consult your physician in the event of serious side effects like dry and hot skin, severe thirst, stomach pain that is severe or constipation, or pain or burning sensation when you go to the bathroom, or if you do not urinate.The medication can cause blurred vision and could affect your thinking or reaction. Be cautious if you drive or engage in activities that require your attention, and be able to see clearly.
Before you take this drug
You shouldn't use Enablex in the event that you are allergic to darifenacin or you are:
- Untreated or uncontrolled narrow-angle glaucoma
- A stomach disorder causing delayed emptying; or
- If you are having trouble emptying your bladder,
To ensure that Enablex is suitable for you, inform your physician if you suffer from:
- Glaucoma;
- Liver disease;
- Ulcerative colitis;
- A blockage in the stomach or intestines of your body;
- Muscle disorders such as myasthenia gravis;
- If you're experiencing only weak urine flow,
FDA classification for pregnancy C It is not clear whether Enablex could harm an unborn baby. Inform your doctor if you are expecting or planning to get pregnant while taking this medication.It is unclear if darifenacin gets into breast milk or whether it is harmful to babies who are nursing. Inform your doctor if you plan on breastfeeding your infant.
How to take Enablex?
Use Enablex exactly as directed by your physician. Follow all the instructions on the prescription label. Your doctor may change the dosage to ensure you are getting the best outcomes. Be sure not to take this medication in greater or lesser quantities or for longer than the recommended time.Drink this medicine along with water.Enablex may be used without or with food.Don't crush, chew, or break an extended-release tablet. Suck it up whole.Maintain at room temperature and away from heat, humidity, and light.
Details on dosage
Usual Adult Dose for Urinary Incontinence:
Initial dosage: 7.5 mg orally once every day with liquid
The dose can be increased to 15 mg every day for two weeks following the beginning of therapy.
Usual Adult Dose for Urinary Frequency:
Initial dosage: 7.5 mg orally once daily, with a liquid
The dosage can be increased to 15 mg every day for the next two weeks after beginning therapy.
What happens if I miss the dose?
You should take the dose you missed as quickly as you can remember. Avoid any missed doses if you are nearing the time for the next dose. Don't take any extra medication to make up for the missed dose.
What happens if I overdose?
For medical emergencies, seek emergency medical attention or contact the Poison Help Line toll-free at 1-800-222-1222.An overdose of drugs can cause problems with vision.
What should be avoided?
This medication can cause blurred vision and could cause a decrease in your ability to think or react. Be cautious when driving or doing things that require that you be aware and be able to see clearly.
Interaction with other drug
Discuss with your doctor any medications you are taking as well as the ones you begin or stop taking while you are taking Enablex, particularly:
- Clarithromycin;
- Flecainide;
- Thioridazine;
- An antidepressant—amitriptyline, clomipramine, desipramine, doxepin, imipramine, nefazodone, nortriptyline;
- Antifungal medicine—itraconazole, ketoconazole, or
- Hiv or aids medicine: nelfinavir, ritonavir.
