What is Systane Preservative Free?

There are numerous kinds and brands of ocular fluid available, but there are a few that are not listed in this brochure.  Systane Preservative-Free is used by adults to alleviate irritation, burning, and discomfort that are caused by dry eyes.  Systane Preservative Free could also be used to achieve purposes not covered in this medication guide.

Systane Preservative-Free has no side effects. 

Contact a medical professional immediately. If you are experiencing symptoms that indicate an allergic reaction, like hives, trouble breathing, and swelling of your lips, face, or tongue,  Get rid of Systane and contact your doctor if you are suffering from intense burning, stinging, or eye irritation following the use of the medication; eye discomfort; eye pain; or vision shifts.  Common adverse consequences associated with Systane Preservative Free can be: mild eye burning or irritation; irritation or the appearance of redness in your eyes.

  • Eye watery; blurred vision; or sensitivity to light.

This isn't a complete list of all the side effects. Others could happen. Contact your doctor for advice regarding medical adverse effects. You can report any adverse reactions to the FDA at 1-800-FDA-1088.  It is not recommended to apply Systane Preservative Free in order to help treat or prevent an eye infection.

Before you take this drug

It is not advised to make use of Systane Preservative-Free if are allergic to it. This medication cannot cure or prevent the development of an infection in your eyes.  Consult a physician or pharmacist if it's safe to apply Systane Preservative Free when you are suffering from any type of eye infection within your eyes.  Inform your doctor if you are nursing or pregnant.

How to take Systane Preservative-Free? 

Follow all instructions on your prescription label and go through all medication guides or instruction sheets. Follow the medication exactly as prescribed.  Wash your hands after applying Systane Preservative Free. Avoid using Systane Preservative-Free. Call your pharmacist if the medication is cloudy or has changed color.  Don't touch the edge of the dropper on the ointment tube or put it directly on your eyes. Contamination of the tip can affect the eye, which can result in serious vision problems.  Consult your physician if symptoms don't improve or if symptoms get worse after using Systane Preservative Free.  Place it in a cool, dry place free of heat and moisture.

What happens if I miss the dose? 

Systane Preservative-Free is used in the event of a need. If you're following a prescribed dosage schedule, avoid missing any doses. Do not take two doses at the same time.

What happens if I overdose? 

Ocular lubricant overdose is not likely to pose a risk. Get medical attention immediately or contact the Poison Help line at 1-800-222-1222 in the event that someone has accidentally swallowed the medicine.

What should be avoided?

Systane Preservative-Free can result in blurred or distorted vision. Avoid driving and other hazardous activities until you are aware of the effects of this medication on your vision. Do not take other eye medications unless your doctor directs you to.

Interaction with other drugs 

The eye medicine will not be affected by any other medications you take. However, there are many drugs that interact with each other. Discuss with your doctor all of your current medications that you take, including prescription and over-the-counter medications, vitamins, and herbs.
