What is Striverdi Respimat?

Striverdi is a bronchodilator. The drug works by relaxing the muscles in the airways, which improves breathing. Striverdi Respimat is used to manage those symptoms that are associated with chronic obstructive pulmonary disease (COPD), which include chronic bronchitis and emphysema. Striverdi Respimat is not a treatment for an attack of bronchospasm that has already started.

Warnings

Striverdi Respimat is only for people suffering from chronic obstructive pulmonary disorder (COPD) and is not recommended for treating the symptoms of asthma. Olodaterol may increase the chance of death or hospitalisation for those suffering from asthma.

Striverdi could increase the chance of dying in asthma sufferers, but the risk of death in those with COPD isn't known. Only use the dose prescribed by your doctor for this medication, and do not use it for more than what your physician recommends. Follow all patient instructions to ensure the safest use. Get medical attention if you notice your breathing issues getting worse quickly or if you believe your medication isn't functioning in the same way.

Before you take this drug

It is not recommended to use Striverdi Respimat if you are sensitive to olodaterol. Striverdi Respimat is for use only in patients with COPD. It should not be used to treat asthma.

To ensure that Striverdi Respimat is appropriate for you, consult your physician if you suffer from:

  • Heart conditions, high blood pressure;
  • Diabetes;
  • A seizure; or
  • A thyroid condition.

Striverdi Respimat is not approved for use by anyone less than 18 years of age.

How to take Striverdi Respimat?

Utilize Striverdi Respimat precisely as directed by your physician. Follow the directions on your prescription label and review all medication manuals or instruction sheets. If you take too much of this medication, it can result in serious adverse effects.

Utilize Striverdi Respimat daily at the same time every day, even if you are feeling good. Be sure to read and adhere to any instructions for use that come along with your medication. Consult your physician or pharmacist if you don't understand these directions. Only use the inhaler device that comes with your prescription, or you might not receive the right dosage. Make sure to use the latest inhaler every time you have your prescription refill.

Striverdi Respimat does not function as an effective remedy to treat bronchospasm attacks. Use only fast-acting inhalation medication for a bronchospasm attack. Consult a doctor if breathing problems become more severe or you believe that your medication isn't effective enough. Do not alter the dose or stop taking your medication without the advice of your doctor. Storage at room temperature, free of heat and moisture. Avoid freezing.

Usual Adult Dose for Chronic Obstructive Pulmonary Disease:

5 mcg (2 inhalations) every day, orally.

Use maintenance bronchodilator treatment to treat obstruction to airflow in patients suffering from chronic obstructive pulmonary disorder (COPD), which includes chronic bronchitis and/or emphysema.

What happens If I miss a dose?

Utilize the medicine as quickly as you can; however, do not miss your missed dose if you are nearing the time to take the next dose. Do not take two doses at once.

Don't take the medicine more than once in a 24-hour period.

What happens If I overdose?

Get medical attention immediately or contact the poison help line at 1-800-222-1222 for help. A high dose of olodaterol could be fatal.

The signs of an overdose could be chest discomfort, quick or irregular heartbeats, muscle cramps or tremors, as well as feeling lightheaded and fainting.

What should be avoided?

Do not get this medicine in your eyes. Do not take a second inhaled bronchodilator with the ingredient olodaterol or similar medicines (such as formoterol, arformoterol, indacaterol, salmeterol, or vilanterol).

  • High blood sugar, an increase in thirst, a rise in urine, a dry mouth, the smell of fruity breath, or
  • Low potassium levels cause leg cramps, constipation, irregular heartbeats, fluttering of the chest, tingling or numbness, and muscles becoming weak or sluggish.

Common Striverdi Respimat adverse effects could include:

  • Signs of a cold like congestion, sneezing, and a sore throat;
  • Cough, breathlessness, chest discomfort
  • Diarrhea;
  • Dizziness;
  • Burning or pain during urination;
  • Back pain, joint pain, or
  • Rash.

Interaction with other drugs

If you also have a bronchodilator that is short-acting, don't apply it regularly when you are using Striverdi Respimat. Make use of the bronchodilator that is short-acting only during an acute bronchospasm attack.
