What is a Spesolimab?

Spesolimab can be used to treat adults with a type of pustular psoriasis. Spesolimab can be used in other ways not mentioned in this guide.

Side effects of Spesolimab

If you experience any of the following signs and symptoms of an allergic reaction: hives, difficulty breathing or swelling of face, lips or throat. Please seek medical assistance immediately.

Some side effects can occur during the injection. You should tell your doctor if you experience nausea, dizziness, lightheadedness, sweating, itching, chest tightness, or backache.

Spesolimab may cause serious side effects. If you experience:

  • Signs of an infection: fever; cough; shortness of Blood in mucus.

Some of the most common side effects associated with spesolimab include:

  • Tiredness or weakness
  • Nausea, vomiting;
  • Headache;
  • Itchy bumps or itchin
  • There may be bruising and/or blood where the injection was made.
  • You may experience pain or burning after urinating.

Warnings

If you experience fever, chills or sweats, coughing, shortness of breath, blood in mucus, burning while urinating, or you are urinating more than normal, call your doctor immediately.

Before you take this drug

If you have an allergy to spesolimab, it is best not to use the product.

Tell your doctor if:

  • Tuberculosis or been exposed to tuberculosis
  • An infection that does not disappear or returns repeatedly
  • Recently received or scheduled to receive a vaccination.

Inform your doctor if you are pregnant or nursing.

How to take Spesolimab?

Read all the instructions and directions included on the prescription label. A healthcare provider injects Spesolimab into a vein over a period of 90 minutes.

Spesolimab usually only needs to be administered once. After a week, if your symptoms persist, your healthcare provider might give you another treatment with spesolimab. Your physician will conduct tests to identify whether you have tuberculosis or any other infections.

Usual Adult Dose for Pustular Psoriasis:

Intravenous infusion of 900 mg over 90 minutes
Comment:
If symptoms of generalized pustular psoriasis persist, administer an additional 900mg IV dose over 90 minutes.
Use: Treatment for generalized pustular skin eruptions in adults

What should be avoided?

You should avoid receiving "live" vaccinations while taking spesolimab. Live vaccines are measles, mumps, and rubella (MMR), rotavirus, typhoid (yellow fever), typhoid (typhoid), varicella (chickenpox), zoster (shingles), and yellow fever (HTML4_shingles).

Interaction with other drug

Spesolimab can be affected by other drugs, such as prescription and over-the-counter medicines, vitamins, and herbal products. Inform your doctor of all the other medications you take.
