What is Savella?

Warnings
Do not take Savella. Prior to use this drug

How to take Savella?

Dosing information
Usual Adult Dose for Fibromyalgia:
Dosage maintenance: 50 mg orally two times per day.
Maximum dosage: 100 mg orally 2 times per day (200 mg taken orally daily).
Comments:
Dosing can be adjusted according to the following guidelines:
Initial dose on day 1: 12.5 mg orally once
Days two and three: 12.5 mg orally, 2 times per day.
Days 4–7: 25 mg taken orally two times per day.
After 7 days: 50 mg orally, two times per day.

What happens if I miss the dose?
You should take the medication as quickly as you are able, but avoid your missed dosage if you are nearing the time to take the next dose. Don't have two doses at one time.
What happens if I overdose?

Overdose symptoms can include severe drowsiness, a low heart rate, and a weak pulse. It can also cause weak breathing and fainting (breathing might cease).
What should be avoided?
Avoid driving or engaging in hazardous activities until you understand the effects of this medication on your body. The way you react could be impaired.
Do not drink alcohol.
Consult your physician before taking a nonsteroidal anti-inflammatory medicine (NSAID) like Ibuprofen, aspirin (Advil, Motrin), naproxen (Aleve), celecoxib (Celebrex), diclofenac, indomethacin, meloxicam, and others. When you take an NSAID together with Savella, it can cause bleeding or bruises easily.
Side effects of Savella
See a doctor immediately. If you are experiencing symptoms of an allergy reaction, Savella: hives, breathing difficulties, or swelling of your lips, face, and tongue

Other medications can be incompatible with milnacipran, such as medications that are prescribed and available over the counter, vitamins, and herbal products. Discuss with your physician your current medications and any medication you begin or stop taking.
