What is Robitussin Peak Daytime Cold + Flu?

Acetaminophen relieves pain and lowers the fever. Dextromethorphan works as a cough suppressant. It works by affecting the signals that are sent to the brain. Phenylephrine shrinks the blood vessels of the nasal passages. Nasal congestion can be caused by dilated blood vessels. Robitussin Peak Daytime Cold and Flu treats headaches, fevers, body aches, and congestion due to allergies, colds, or flu. The cough caused by smoking or asthma will not be treated with Robitussin. This medication guide does not list all possible uses for Robitussin for peak colds, daytime colds, and flu.

Side Effects of Robitussin Peak Daytime Cold + Flu

If you experience symptoms indicative of an allergic reaction, such as hives, difficulty breathing, lips, face, tongue or throat swelling and so forth, seek emergency medical assistance immediately. Acetaminophen can cause severe skin reactions that are fatal. This may happen even if you've taken it before and never had a reaction. Call your doctor immediately if the skin becomes red or you develop a rash. If blisters form and you peel them off, stop taking this medication.

Call your doctor immediately if:

  • Chest pain with a fast, slow, or uneven heartbeat;
  • Feeling dizzy to the extent that it seems you could pass out;
  • Mood changes, confusion, hallucinations, seizure (convulsions);
  • Little or no urinating is acceptable.
  • Nausea; upper stomach pain; itching; loss of appetite; and dark urine or clay-colored stools. Jaundice.
  • Symptoms of dangerously high blood pressure include severe headaches, blurred visions, buzzing in the ears, anxiety, chest pains, irregular heartbeats, and seizures.

Robitussin Peak is cold. Daytime The cold and flu may cause the following side effects:

  • Dizziness, weakness, mild headache;
  • Stomach upset, diarrhea
  • Dry mouth, nose, or throat
  • Feeling nervous, restless, or irritable;
  • Sleep problems (insomnia).

Warnings

MAO inhibitors include isocarboxazid (linezolid), phenelzine (rasagiline), selegiline (tranylcypromine), and rasagiline. A dangerous interaction may arise. Don't take more than recommended. An acetaminophen overdose can cause liver damage or death. Acetaminophen can cause severe skin reactions in rare cases. If you notice skin redness, a rash, blistering, or peeling, stop taking the medicine immediately and contact your doctor.

Before you take this drug

If you have taken a MAO inhibitor within the last 14 days, do not take this medication. It is possible that a dangerous drug interaction will occur. MAO inhibitors are isocarboxazid (linezolid), phenelzine (rasgiline), selegiline (tranylcypromine), and rasagiline. This medication should not be used if you have an allergy to dextromethorphan, phenylephrine, or acetaminophen. If you have other medical conditions or concerns, seek advice from both your physician and pharmacist as to whether the medicine will be safe.

  • Alcoholism or if you consume more than three alcoholic drinks per day.
  • High blood pressure, coronary heart disease
  • Asthma, or A cough with mucus or a cough caused by tobacco smoking
  • Diabetes;
  • Glaucoma;
  • Overactive thyroid
  • Epilepsy
  • Pheochromocytoma
  • Other urination issues or bladder obstruction.

Robitussin Peak is cold. Daytime colds and flu are not known to harm a developing baby. If you are pregnant, do not take this medication without consulting your doctor. Acetaminophen and dextromethorphan can pass through breast milk, which may be harmful to a nursing infant. Decongestants can also reduce breast milk production. If you are breastfeeding your infant, do not take this medication without first consulting with a physician. Phenylalanine can be found in cold medicines that are artificially sweetened. Check the label of your medication to determine if it contains phenylalanine if you have phenylketonuria.

How to take Robitussin Peak Daytime Cold + Flu?

Do not exceed the recommended dosage or duration. Use only the recommended dose. Do not exceed it. Usually, this medicine is taken for only a few days until the symptoms disappear. Don't take more than the recommended dose. Acetaminophen can cause liver damage or death if taken in excess. This medication should not be given to children younger than four years of age. Ask a doctor first before giving any cough or cold medication to your child. Children as young as 4 years old can die if they misuse cough and cold medicines.

Do not use a regular spoon to measure liquid medicines. Use a dose-measuring spoon, medicine cup, or medicine cup. Ask your pharmacist if you don't have a dose-measuring device. One packet of powder should be dissolved in 4 ounces or more of water. Mix this mixture well and consume it immediately. Do not take the medication for more than seven days at a time. Notify your doctor or surgeon immediately if you have taken this medication within the last several days and require any type of medical testing or surgery, especially if there are potential health consequences to taking such medicine. Store away from moisture or heat at room temperature. Liquid medicines should not be allowed to freeze.

What happens if I miss the dose?

You may not have a schedule for taking Robitussin Daytime Cold and Flu Peak Cold. Take the missed dose immediately if you take the medication regularly.If the next scheduled dose is due soon, don't take an extra one if one occurs unexpectedly.You should not take more medicine to compensate for a missed dose.

What happens if I overdose?

Call the Poison Help Line at 1-800-222-1222 or seek emergency medical care. Acetaminophen overdoses can be deadly. Loss of appetite, nausea and vomiting, sweating, and confusion or weakness are the first signs. Other symptoms could include dark urine and yellowing of skin or eye whites. The side effects of this medication guide may include severe versions of other symptoms.

What should be avoided?

Before using any pain relievers, allergy remedies, or sleep aids, consult your physician or pharmacist first. Many combination medications contain acetaminophen, also known as APAP. Taking some products together may cause an overdose of acetaminophen, which could be fatal. This medication can affect your ability to think or react. You should be careful when driving or doing anything else that requires you to remain alert. Avoid alcohol. You may be at greater risk for liver damage if you take acetaminophen.

Interaction with other drug

Other drugs, such as vitamins and herbal products, may interact with Robitussin. Inform your healthcare providers of all the medicines you are taking and those you plan to take.
