Warnings

Before you take this drug
If you've taken an MAO inhibitor in the last 14 days, do not take Robitussin Max Strength 12 Hour Cough and Mucus Relief. It is possible that a dangerous drug interaction will occur. MAO inhibitors are isocarboxazid (linezolid), methylene blue injection, phenelzine, and selegiline.
If you suffer from:
- A cough that produces mucus
- Asthma, emphysema, or chronic lung disease.
Consult your doctor before taking this medication if you're pregnant or breastfeeding. This medication may contain phenylalanine.If you suffer from phenylketonuria, always read and carefully follow any labels of medications taken to manage this condition.
How to take Robitussin Max Strength 12-Hour Cough and Mucus Reliever?
Follow the directions on the label or as directed by your physician for use of cold and cough medicines, to use for only as long as necessary until symptoms have cleared up. Adhere to the directions on the label when giving cough and cold medications to children, as this could put them to sleep too quickly. Do not use these medicines to calm children before sleeping. Measuring liquid medicine accurately is critical. Please use either the provided dosing device or dose measuring tool (not a spoon) when taking doses. Before measuring a dose, it may be necessary to shake the liquid thoroughly and follow all instructions provided on its label. Do not chew, crush or break an extended-release tablet. Sprinkle some granules directly on to your tongue, and take immediate action afterward by swallowing. Drink plenty of fluids when taking this medicine in order to ease congestion and soothe your throat. This may help in breaking up build-up. If your symptoms don't improve within seven days or you experience a rash or headache, please call your physician immediately. Inform the surgeon if you have taken medication within the last several days and if any surgery will be required. Store at room temperature away from heat and moisture to maintain best conditions for storage.
