What is Revefenacin?

Revefenacin treats chronic obstructive lung disease (COPD), which includes emphysema and chronic bronchitis.Revefenacin helps to relax the muscles of your lungs, preventing wheezing and coughing. It also reduces chest tightness and shortness of breath.This medication guide does not list all possible uses for Revefenacin.

Side effects of Revefenacin

If you experience any of the following symptoms of an allergic reaction, seek immediate medical attention: hives, difficulty breathing, swelling of your lips, face, tongue, or throat.

Revefenacin may cause serious side effects. If you experience:

  • Revefenacin can cause wheezing or other breathing problems.
  • Blurred vision, redness or pain in the eyes, or seeing halos around lights
  • Urination that is painful or difficult
  • A weak stream of urine (insufficiency in bladder emptying)

Some of the common side effects associated with revefenacin include:

  • Headache;
  • Backache
  • Cold symptoms, including runny or stuffy noses, sneezing, and coughing.

Before you take this drug

If you have an allergy to revefenacin, it is best not to use it.

Inform your physician of any of the following conditions:

  • Glaucoma;
  • Urination problems
  • An enlarged prostrate
  • Liver disease.

Inform your physician immediately if you become pregnant or nursing.Revefenacin should not be used by anyone under the age of 18.

How to take Revefenacin?

Read and adhere to all instructions that accompany your medication, whether printed on its package or supplied electronically. Follow the directions on the label.Revefenacin should only be used with an air compressor and a jet nebulizer. One vial is usually taken per day. In the nebulizer (reservoir), do not mix Revefenacin or other medications.Revefenacin should not be used to treat bronchospasm. Only use inhalation medicines that act quickly. If your breathing problems worsen quickly or you feel that your medication is not working, seek medical attention.Please read and follow all instructions that accompany your medication before use. If you don't understand the instructions, ask your doctor or pharmacist.If the color of your medicine has changed or if you notice that it is cloudy, do not use it. For new medication, call your pharmacist.Store Revefenacin at room temperature in foil pouches. After opening, use the medicine immediately. Do not use any pouches that have expired before the date printed on the label.Revefenacin should not be stopped abruptly. Your health may deteriorate if you abruptly stop exercising.

What happens if I miss the dose?

If it is nearly time for your next dose, do not take an incomplete dosage. Instead, wait to take your next scheduled dosage when due. Never take two doses of the same medicine at once.

What happens if I overdose?

Call 1-800-222-1222 for poison help or seek immediate medical attention.Overdose symptoms include nausea and vomiting. Other symptoms are vision problems, difficulty urinating, or lightheadedness.

What should be avoided?

If your doctor prescribes any restrictions regarding food, beverage, or activity, follow their instructions.

Interaction with other drug

Inform your doctor of all medications you are currently taking, such as:

  • Medicine to treat depression or anxiety;
  • Cold or allergy medication (Benadryl et al.)
  • Medicine to treat Parkinson’s disease
  • Medicine to address stomach ailments, motion sickness or irritable bowel syndrome.
  • Medicine to treat overactive urinary bladder
  • Bronchodilator medicine asthma medication
