What is Perio Med?

There are a variety of varieties and brandsa of fluoride topical products available. Some brands are not included in this leaflet. Perio Med is a medicine used to aid in preventing tooth decay and gum diseases. It can also build tooth enamel, get rid of plaque bacteria from the teeth and gums, and reduce the pain of sensitive teeth. Fluoride can also be employed for other purposes that are not covered in this guideline.

Side effect of Periomed

Contact a medical professional immediately. Get medical attention immediately if you notice symptoms or warning signs of an allergic response, such as hives, difficulty breathing, and swelling of your lips, face, and throat. Contact your doctor if your sensitiveness does not improve or if it becomes worse.

Before taking this medication

How to take Perio Med?

Be sure to read and adhere to the instructions found on the packaging of the Perio Med medication. Consult your dentist or the manufacturer of the product if you don't understand these directions. Avoid swallowing PerioMed. It is intended for use on gums and teeth.

A preventive treatment with fluoride is not recommended for regular toothpaste brushing. Don't allow a small child to make use of Perio Med without assistance from an adult. Perio Med rinse or gel can stain your teeth. Regular brushing helps to prevent this. Do not eat, drink, or ingest anything, or wash your mouth thoroughly for thirty minutes following taking Perio Med.

Do not use the PerioMed rinse to treat sensitivity to your teeth for more than 4 weeks, unless your dentist or physician tells you to. Stop taking Perio Med and consult your dentist or a doctor if your tooth sensitivity doesn't get better or increases. Keep it at room temperature, far from heat and moisture. Avoid freezing. Avoid extreme heat.

Do I be concerned if I miss a dose?

Utilize the dose as fast as you can; however, take a break from the missed dose if you think it is getting close to the time of the next dose. Do not take two doses at once.

How do I react if I take too much?

Get medical attention immediately or contact the Poison Help Line at 1-800-222-1222. The symptoms of an overdose can happen in the event that you consume a large amount of fluoride during use.

Overdose symptoms can consist of vomiting, stomach pain, diarrhea, burning in the mouth, and a sore tongue. More serious signs of an overdose may include severe stomach cramps and the coughing up of blood.

What should be avoided?

Do not swallow Perio Med. Make sure to flush it out after each use.

Interaction with other drugs

PerioMed, which is used in the mouth, is unlikely to be affected by the other drugs that you are taking. However, many medications can interfere with each other. Inform your healthcare professionals about all medications you take, including medications that are prescribed and available over the counter, vitamins, and herbal remedies.
