What is Moban?

Moban is an antipsychotic medication used for the treatment of schizophrenia.

Moban can be used in other ways not mentioned in the medication guide.

Side effects of Moban

If you experience any of the following signs and symptoms of an allergy reaction: difficulty breathing, hives, facial or throat swelling and difficulty swallowing or speaking. Seek medical assistance immediately.

Molindone in high doses and for a long time can lead to a severe movement disorder. This may be irreversible. You are more susceptible to this movement disorder if you have been using Moban for a long time, particularly if you're a woman or older.

Moban can cause severe side effects. If you experience:

  • Any new and unusual movements of the muscles that you are unable to control.
  • A tremor is an uncontrolled shaking.
  • Trouble swallowing or breathing;
  • A seizure (convulsions);
  • Women with irregular periods, vaginal or breast changes, and nipple discharge.
  • (in men) breast swelling, impotence

  • Severe nervous system reaction: very stiff muscles (rigid), high fever, sweating and confusion, rapid or irregular heartbeats. Tremors. Feeling like you may pass out.
  • Low white blood cells—fever and chills; sores on the lips, tongue, or skin; sores of the throat. Cough, difficulty breathing.

Moban can cause the following side effects:

  • Drowsiness;
  • Rapid heart rate; feeling restless, naive, or uneasy; being unable to sit still.
  • Blurred vision
  • Dry mouth

  • Little or no urine;
  • Nausea, constipation;
  • Breast swelling or discharge;
  • Impotence and sexual disorders
  • Changes in menstrual cycles

Warnings

Moban should be avoided if your alertness has been affected by alcohol or certain drugs.

Moban has not been approved to be used in patients with dementia or psychosis.

Before you take this drug

If you have an allergy to Moban, then:

  • If you experience a decrease in alertness due to taking certain drugs or alcohol,.

Moban is not recommended for use in dementia-related psychosis.

If you've ever:

  • Epilepsy and other seizure disorders
  • Low white blood cell (WBC) count;
  • Urination issues;
  • Breast Cancer.

Antipsychotic medication taken during the last three months of gestation could result in respiratory difficulties, feeding difficulties and withdrawal symptoms for your infant. If you become pregnant during this timeframe, be sure to notify your physician as soon as possible and do not discontinue use without consulting first with him or her. If taking Moban, seek medical advice prior to stopping.

Molindone is unknown to pass into breast milk or harm nursing babies. You should tell your doctor that you are breastfeeding a child.

You may be unable to breastfeed if you use Moban. You should consult your physician if you are concerned about any risks.

How to take Moban?

Read all the instructions or guides that come with your medication and follow the directions. Sometimes, your doctor will change the dose. Take your medication exactly as prescribed.

Moban may not produce results immediately, so take your medicine exactly as instructed for maximum effectiveness.

If your symptoms do not improve or worsen, contact a medical provider immediately.

Keep away from heat, moisture, and light.

What happens if I miss the dose?

If you are almost due for the next dose, skip the missed one. Avoid taking more than one dose at once.

What happens if I overdose?

Call 1-800-222-1222 for poison help or seek immediate medical attention.

What should be avoided?

Don't drink alcohol. Side effects and death can occur.

Do not drive or operate machinery before you have a better understanding of how Moban affects you. You may get dizzy if you stand up quickly from a seated or lying position. Drowsiness or dizziness can lead to accidents or serious injuries.

Interaction with other drug

Asking your doctor about opioid medications, sleeping pills, muscle relaxers, anxiety medication, or seizure medicine can lead to dangerous side effects.

Inform your physician of all other medications you are taking, such as:

  • Phenytoin;
  • An antibiotic, such as doxycycline or minocycline.
