What is Methyltestosterone?
The man-made version of testosterone is methyltestosterone. This is the naturally occurring hormone in men's testicles. A woman's adrenal gland and ovaries also produce small amounts of testosterone. Men and boys are treated with methyltestosterone for conditions such as hormonal imbalances or delayed puberty. Women can also be treated with methyltestosterone for cancerous breasts that have spread.This medication guide does not list all possible uses of methyltestosterone.
Side effects of Methyltestosterone
If you experience any of the following symptoms of an allergy reaction, seek immediate medical attention: difficulty breathing or swelling in your lips, face, throat, or tongue.
Methyltestosterone may cause serious side effects. If you experience:
- Changes in the skin's color
- Increased or continuous erection;
- Shortness of breath
- Rapid weight gain and swelling
- Liver problems: nausea, stomach pains, itching. Loss of appetite. Dark urine. Clay-colored stools. Jaundice.
If methyltestosterone is used by women, they may acquire male traits. This could become irreversible. If you see any of the following signs, stop using methyltestosterone immediately and contact your doctor.
- Acne;
- Changes in menstrual cycles
- Male-pattern hair (such as the chest or chin);
- Hoarse voice or deepened vocalization
- The enlarged clitoris
For men or women, common side effects include:
- Breast swelling
- Migraine; anxiety;
- Feeling of numbness, tingling, or warmth;
- Increased or decreased interest in sex.

Warnings
This medicine should not be taken by pregnant women. If you are a male with breast cancer or prostate cancer, then you should avoid using methyltestosterone.
Before you take this drug
If you're allergic to methyltestosterone or have any of the following:
- Prostate cancer
- Male breast cancer
- If you think that you may be pregnant,
Tell your doctor about any of the following to ensure that methyltestosterone will not harm you:
- An enlarged prostrate
- Breast cancer
- Congestive cardiac failure
- Liver or kidney disease
- If you are taking a blood thinner, such as Warfarin Coumadin Jantoven,
FDA pregnancy class X Methyltestosterone may harm an unborn child or cause a birth defect. Avoid using methyltestosterone while pregnant. Inform your doctor immediately if a pregnancy occurs during treatment. While using methyltestosterone, use effective birth control. We do not know if methyltestosterone can pass into the breast milk or if this could cause harm to a baby who is nursing. This medicine should not be taken while breastfeeding.
How to take Methyltestosterone?
Please follow all the instructions on the prescription label. The doctor will occasionally adjust your dosage to ensure you achieve the best possible results. Take this medication only as prescribed. Do not exceed the recommended dose or take it longer. You may require frequent blood tests if you use methyltestosterone .The treatment of delayed puberty in boys can cause a decrease in bone mass. It may be necessary to check the development of bones every six months while on treatment. Keep away from heat and moisture. Store at room temperature.
What happens if I miss the dose?
As soon as possible, take the missed dose. If your next dose is approaching, skip the missed dose. You should not take more medicine to compensate for a missed dose.

What should be avoided?

Interaction with other drug
There are other drugs that may interfere with methyltestosterone. These include prescription medicines, over-the-counter medications, vitamins, and herbal products. Inform your healthcare providers of all the medicines that you are currently taking and those that you plan to start using
