What is Mentholatum Deep Heating?

Mentholatum (for the skin) is used to temporarily relieve minor aches and discomforts due to strains, sprains, arthritis, bruising pain, simple pain, or pain in the lower spine. Mentholatum Deep Heat may be used in other ways not mentioned in this guide.

Side effects of Mentholatum Deep Heating

If you experience any of the following symptoms of an allergic reaction, seek immediate medical attention: hives, difficulty breathing, swelling of the face, lips, or throat.

Mentholatum can cause serious side effects. Mentholatum deep heat should be stopped immediately, and a doctor should be consulted if:

  • Redness or swelling in the treated area
  • Increased pain

Before you take this drug

If you've ever experienced an allergic reaction, ask your doctor or pharmacist whether mentholatum is safe for use.Before taking this medication if you are pregnant or nursing, always seek advice from your healthcare provider first.Avoid applying this medication to the nipple region if you are breastfeeding. This medicine should not be used on children without consulting a doctor.

How to take Mentholatum Deep Heating?

Follow the instructions on the label or those prescribed by your doctor. Take it only by mouth. Topical medicines are only to be used on the skin. Only apply to dry, clean skin. Apply only to clean and dry skin. Avoid applying to open wounds, blistered skin, or skin that has been sunburnt, windburned, or otherwise irritated. This medicine is only for young children. Make sure that when giving this medication to a child, all instructions are adhered to exactly. Apply a thin coating of medication and rub it gently into the area. Apply a patch directly over the affected area, pressing hard on its edges. Remove and replace as instructed before replacing it again later. Before each use, shake the spray thoroughly. After applying the medicine or handling the skin patch, wash your hands with soap. Apply the medicine using a cotton ball, rubber glove, finger cot, or clean tissue to avoid getting it on your fingers. Wait at least 30 minutes after taking medication on fingers or hands before washing your hands with soap. Avoid covering the area to be treated with bandages or heating pads. If your pain persists after seven days or your symptoms worsen or improve, consult a healthcare provider immediately. Store away from moisture and heat.

What happens if I miss the dose?

Mentholatum is used for deep heating when necessary. You can skip missed doses if you have a schedule. Never use two doses in one go.

What happens if I overdose?

If anyone accidentally swallows any medicine, seek emergency medical attention or call Poison Help immediately at 1-800-222-1222.

What should be avoided?

Avoid getting Mentholatum deep-heated in your eyes. Rinse your eyes with water if you do come into contact. Avoid getting the medication in your mouth, nose, rectum, or vagina. Avoid getting the medication on your contact lenses, dentures, and other items that come into contact with sensitive parts of your body. Do not use other medications without consulting your doctor.

Interaction with other drug

Tell your doctor about all the medicines you are taking, including prescription and over-the-counter medications. Inform your doctor of all the medications you are taking, including over-the-counter and prescription medicines, vitamins, and herbal remedies.
