Warnings

If you've taken an MAO-inhibitor in the last 14 days (such as isocarboxazid or linezolid) or phenelzine rasagiline, selegiline, or tranylcypromine, do not take this medication.

Before you take this drug

If you've taken an MAO inhibitor within the last 14 days, don't take loratadine or pseudoephedrine. A dangerous drug interaction may occur. MAO inhibitors are isocarboxazid (linezolid), methylene blue injection, phenelzine, and other drugs.

If you suffer from:

  • Liver or kidney disease
  • Heart disease, high blood pressure
  • Diabetes;
  • Thyroid disorder;
  • An enlarged prostrate can cause urination issues.

Do not use this medication if you are pregnant without first consulting your physician.The use of this medicine is not recommended during breastfeeding

How to take Loratadine and pseudoephedrine?

Follow the instructions on the label or those prescribed by your physician. Cold or allergen medicines are only to be used for a short time until symptoms disappear.Follow the directions on the label of any medicine you give to a child. Never use medicine to put a child to sleep.Do not chew or crush the tablet.If your symptoms don't improve within 7 days or you have a temperature, call your doctor.Tell your doctor or surgeon if you've taken allergy or cold medicine in the last few days if you are going to need surgery.Keep away from moisture and heat at room temperature.

Adult dose for Allergic Rhinitis:

Take one tablet every 12 hours.
Maximum dose: 2 tablets per 24 hours.
Loratadine or pseudoephedrine per tablet: one tablet, once daily.
Maximum dose: 1 tablet per 24 hours.

Adult dose for nasal congestion:

Take one tablet every 12 hours.
Maximum dose: 2 tablets per 24 hours.
Loratadine or pseudoephedrine per tablet: one tablet, once daily.
Maximum dose: 1 tablet per 24 hours.

The usual paediatric dose for allergic rhinitis is:

Loratadine (5 mg) or pseudoephedrine (120 mg) per tablet
Twelve years and older: Take 1 tablet every 12 hours.
Maximum dose: 2 tablets per 24 hours.
Loratadine 10 mg and pseudoephedrine 250mg per tablet
12 years of age and older: Take 1 tablet once daily orally.
Maximum dose: 1 tablet per 24 hours.

What happens if I miss the dose?

You may not have a schedule for your doses, as loratadine or pseudoephedrine are used only when necessary. If it is almost time to take your next dose, skip the missed dose. Never take two doses in one go.

What should be avoided?

You may experience blurred vision or impaired reactions if you take pseudoephedrine and loratadine together.
