What is Librium?

Librium is a benzodiazepine (ben-zoe-dye-AZE-eh-peen) that is used to treat anxiety disorders.Librium can be used to treat short-term symptoms of withdrawal from alcohol or anxiety before a surgical procedure.This medication guide does not list all possible uses of lithium.

Side effects of Lithium

Seek immediate medical care if you have any of these symptoms: difficulty breathing, hives, swelling in your face, lips, throat, or tongue.Librium may slow or stop breathing, particularly if you've recently consumed alcohol or opioid medications. If you are having slow breathing with long pauses or blue lips, someone caring for you needs to seek immediate medical attention.

Librium can cause serious side effects. If you experience:

  • Severe sleepiness;
  • Slow heartbeat; slow breathing (breathing can stop);
  • Memory or concentration problems;
  • Unusual changes in mood and behaviour; thoughts about suicide or harming yourself
  • Problems with muscle or balance movement
  • Confusion, excitement, paranoia, anger, aggression,
  • Stomach pain and loss of appetite

Older adults may experience drowsiness and dizziness for a longer period of time. Avoid falling or accidental injuries by exercising caution.

Librium can cause the following side effects:

  • Drowsiness;
  • Confuse or confuse
  • Balance problems

If you experience any of the following symptoms after stopping librium: abnormal muscle movements, increased activity or talkativeness, sudden and severe mood or behavioural changes, confusion, hallucinations, seizures, or suicidal thoughts,Some withdrawal symptoms can last for up to a year or more after abruptly stopping lithium. Warnings

Librium may slow or stop breathing, particularly if you've recently taken an opioid medication or consumed alcohol.MISUSE OF THIS MEDICINE CAN CAUSE ADDICTION, OVERDOSE, OR DEATH. This medicine should be kept out of the reach of others.Stop using Librium only after consulting your doctor. If you suddenly stop taking the medication after long-term use, you may experience life-threatening symptoms. Some withdrawal symptoms may last up to twelve months.Seek medical attention immediately if you experience symptoms after stopping librium, such as abnormal muscle movements, increased activity or talkativeness, sudden and severe mood or behavioural changes, confusion, hallucinations or seizures, or thoughts of suicide.

Before you take this drug

If you have an allergy to Librium, then it is best not to use it.

Tell your doctor about any of the following:

  • Depression is a mental disorder that can lead to suicidal feelings or thoughts.
  • Drug abuse or alcoholism?
  • Liver or kidney disease

If you are planning to become pregnant, inform your doctor as soon as possible.Librium may harm an unborn baby. Do not take Librium in the first trimester.Ask your doctor if you can safely breastfeed while taking this medication.No one under the age of 6 is allowed to use this product.

How to take Librium?

Read all instructions or medication guides and follow the directions on the prescription label. Librium should never be used in higher doses or for longer periods than prescribed. If you are feeling a greater urge to take more of the medicine, tell your doctor.Do not share this medication with anyone, especially if they have a history of addiction to drugs. MISTAKEN USE CAN CAUSE ADDICTION OR OVERDOSE. Store the medicine in a place where others can't get it. It is illegal to sell or give away this medicine.Take Librium for no more than 4 months. Do not forget to follow your doctor's instructions.Stop using Librium only after consulting your doctor. If you suddenly stop taking the medication after long-term usage, you may experience life-threatening symptoms.Keep away from moisture and heat at room temperature.Store your medication in an area where it cannot be misused.

What happens if I miss the dose?

If you are almost due for your next dose, skip the missed one. Never take two doses of the same medicine at once.

What happens if I overdose?

Call Poison Help at 1-800-222-1222 or seek emergency medical attention. A librium overdose can be fatal if taken with alcohol, opioid medicines, or other drugs that cause drowsiness and slow breathing.Overdose symptoms include dryness of mouth, blurred vision, less urination, constipation, extreme drowsiness, confusion, muscle weakness, or loss of consciousness.

What should be avoided?

Don't drink alcohol. Side effects and death can occur.Do not drive or engage in hazardous activities until you have a better understanding of how lithium affects you. Dizziness and drowsiness may cause accidents or serious injuries.

Interaction with other drug

Do not use Librium in conjunction with any other drug that makes you sleepy, slows your breathing, or treats anxiety or seizures.Librium may be affected by other drugs, such as prescription and over-the-counter medicines, vitamins, and herbal products. Inform your doctor of all the other medications you take.
