Jalyn

Generic name: dutasteride and tamsulosin [ doo-TAS-ter-ide-and-tam-soo-LOE-sin ]
Drug Class: 5-alpha reductase Inhibitors

What is Jalyn?

Jalyn is a combination of dutasteride and tamsulosin. Dutasteride stops testosterone from being converted into dihydrotestosterone in the body. DHT plays a role in the development of benign prostate hyperplasia. Tamsulosin helps to relax the muscles of the bladder, neck, and prostate, which makes it easier for you to urinate. Jalyn can be used to treat BPH in men who have an enlarged prostrate.

Jalyn must never be handled by women, children, or teenagers. Dutasteride is absorbed through the surface of the skin. If a pregnant woman is exposed, it can cause birth defects. Women who are pregnant or may become pregnant should not handle the capsules. If a woman accidentally touches the medication that has leaked from a capsule, she should wash the affected area immediately with soap and warm water. Don't donate blood for 6 months following the end of your Jalyn treatment. Dutasteride is carried in blood and can cause birth defects when a pregnant woman receives blood that contains dutasteride.
