What is Icar-C?
Citrus fruits, tomatoes, potatoes, and green leafy vegetables contain ascorbic acid. The skin, connective tissue, normal hormonal and chemical production, and the immune system all benefit from ascorbic acid.
Carbonyl iron refers to a mineral called iron. Iron is essential for the body's many functions including oxygen transport.Icar_C is a vitamin-mineral combination supplement that helps the body absorb iron better from food.Icar-C can be used in other ways not mentioned in the medication guide.
Side effects of Icar-C
Seek emergency medical care if you have difficulty breathing or swelling of your face, lips, tongue or throat.
Icar-C side effects may include the following:
- Nausea, upset stomach;
- Constipation
- Diarrhea.

Before you take this drug
If you have an allergy to Icar-C, then it is best not to use the product.If you suffer from allergies or any other health conditions, ask your doctor or pharmacist whether it's safe to use this medication. You may be unable to take Icar-C in some situations or may require a dosage adjustment or other special precautions.
You may need a different dose during pregnancy and while nursing.This medication should not be given to children without consulting a doctor.
How to take Icar-C?
Do not exceed the recommended dosage or duration. Use the recommended dose and do not exceed it.Keep this product out of reach of children. Do not chew or break the tablet.Take Icar-C with an empty stomach, at least one hour before or two hours after eating.Icar-C can be taken along with food to settle your stomach if you are feeling upset.
Keep away from heat and moisture.tkeep this product out of reach of children. Iron-containing products are a major cause of poisoning fatalities in children younger than 6. If you suspect an accidental overdose of iron-containing products, call poison control or seek immediate medical care.
What happens if I miss the dose?
As soon as possible, take the missed dose. Skip the missed dose if your next dose is near. You should not take more medicine to compensate for a missed dose.
What happens if I overdose?
Call the Poison Help Line at 1-800-222-1222 or seek emergency medical care. Iron overdose can have fatal consequences, particularly in children.
Iron overdose symptoms include nausea, vomiting, diarrhea, bleeding, paleness of the skin, and a rapid heartbeat. Other symptoms include extreme fatigue, cold or numb lips, sneezing, and gasping for air. A cough may also be present.
What should be avoided?
Take Icar-C at least 2 hours after taking other medications, such as an antibiotic. Icar-C may make your body less able to absorb some medicines that you consume orally.
Interaction with other drug
Ascorbic acid, carbonyl ferr, and other drugs can interact. These include prescription, over-the-counter, vitamins, and herbal remedies. Inform your healthcare providers of all the medicines that you are currently taking and those you plan to start using.
