What is Genicin Vita-D?

Cholecalciferol, Vitamin D3 Vitamin D is essential for calcium absorption. Folic acid, or folate, is vitamin B9. Vitamin B9 is essential for the body to produce new cells and maintain them. When pregnant women take folic acid, it helps to prevent birth defects of several kinds. Genicin Vitamin-D is used by people who are not getting enough vitamin D to maintain their health. Side effects of Genicin Vita-D

If you experience any of the following symptoms of an allergy: difficulty breathing, hives, swelling in your lips, face, throat, or tongue

If you experience any of the following symptoms, stop taking Genicin Vita-D immediately and contact your doctor.

  • Vomiting; decreased appetite
  • Weakness;
  • Increased urination.

Warnings

This medicine should not be taken if your skin has an allergy to vitamin D or you have a high level of vitamin D or calcium in your system. It is also best to avoid this medication if your body cannot absorb food nutrients (malabsorption).

Before you take this drug

Genicin Vita-D should not be used if:

  • Hypervitaminosis (D);
  • Hypercalcemia is the term used to describe high calcium levels in the blood.
  • Malabsorption is a condition in which your body has difficulty absorbing nutrients.

Sometimes folic acid is used with other drugs to treat pernicious anemia. Genicin Vita D will not correct a vitamin B12 shortage or prevent spinal cord damage. Be sure to carefully follow any directions given by your healthcare provider regarding taking medication.

If you've ever:

  • Vitamin B12 deficiency (pernicious anemia);
  • Heart Disease
  • Kidney disease
  • A thyroid condition.

Inform your doctor of any pregnancy or nursing.

How to take Genicin Vita-D?

Read all the instructions or guides that come with your medication and follow all the directions. Follow the directions on your prescription label. Follow the directions for giving vitamin D and cholecalciferol to children on their medicine labels. The dose your child receives will vary depending on his age, weight, and diet. Find out what foods to eat in order to get the right amount of calcium and vitamin D. You may have to adjust your Genicin Vita D dose as you change your diet. Only use the recommended dosage of cholecalciferol. It is possible that Genicin Vita D may only be part of an overall treatment program, which includes calcium and vitamin supplementation and dietary modifications. You should follow your doctor’s advice. Keep away from heat, moisture, and light.

What happens if I miss the dose?

If you are almost due for the next dose, skip the missed one. Never take more than one dose at a time.

What happens if I overdose?

Call the Poison Help Line at 1-800-222-1222 or seek emergency medical care. A vitamin D overdose can have serious and life-threatening effects. Overdose symptoms include body aches and stiffness, as well as nausea, lack of appetite, excessive thirst or urination, confusion, or an irregular heartbeat.

What should be avoided?

Before taking Genicin Vita D, consult your doctor before you take any mineral supplements or antacids.

Interaction with other drug

Take other medication at least two hours before or after taking Genicin Vita D. Some medications may make your body less able to absorb vitamin D. Genicin Vita-D may be affected by other drugs, such as prescription or over-the-counter medications, vitamins, and herbal supplements. Inform your doctor of all the other medications you take.
