What is Vesicare Ls?

Vesicare is used for treating symptoms such as frequent or excessive urination and urinary incontinence.

Vesicare® LS Oral Suspension (Liquid) Vesicare® LS treats overactive bladder in children aged at least two years, caused by neurologic disorders (such as multiple sclerosis and spinal cord injury).vesicare Ls may be used in other ways not mentioned in the medication guide.

Vesicare LS side effects

If you experience symptoms of an allergy (hives), difficulty breathing (swelling in the face and throat), or severe skin reactions (fever or burning, eyes that hurt, skin pain or blistering, or a red or purple rash on your skin with peeling or blistering), seek emergency medical attention.

Vesicare LS may cause serious side effects. If you experience:

  • If you have had severe abdominal pain or constipation lasting 3 days or more, then this is a serious condition.
  • Pain or burning after urinating;
  • Headache, confusion, drowsiness, hallucinations;
  • Vision changes or eye pain
  • You may have little to no urination or experience pain or burning while urinating.
  • Dehydration symptoms include dizziness, fatigue, thirst, heat, reduced sweating, or dry and hot skin.
  • High potassium levels: nausea, tingly feelings, chest pains, irregular heartbeats, and loss of mobility

Vesicare Ls may cause the following side effects:

  • Blurred vision
  • Dry lips, dry eyes
  • Painful urination
  • Constipation is a common symptom.
  • Heat stroke: dizziness, fatigue, nausea, and feeling hot

Warnings

Vesicare is not recommended if your narrow-angle eye disease hasn't been treated or controlled or you can't urinate.

Before you take this drug

Vesicare Ls should not be used if:

  • Untreated narrow-angle Glaucoma, or glaucoma that is not controlled,
  • A stomach disorder that causes delayed emptying.
  • If you're unable to urinate,

If you've ever:

  • Glaucoma;
  • Liver Disease
  • Kidney disease
  • You may have difficulty emptying your bladder, or you might only be able to produce a weak urine stream.
  • Slow digestion;
  • A blockage of your stomach, intestines, or both
  • Long QT syndrome.

This medicine is unknown to cause harm to an unborn child. Inform your doctor of any pregnancy or plans to get pregnant.vesicare Ls should not be used while breastfeeding.

How to take Vesicare Ls?

Read all the instructions or guides that come with your medication and follow all the directions. Follow the directions on your prescription label.vesicare Ls is taken one time per day, with or without meals. Please follow your doctor's directions.

The tablet should not be crushed, chewed, or broken. It is best to swallow it whole.Before measuring a dosage, shake the orally suspended liquid. You can use the provided dosing device or a dose-measuring tool (not a spoon).Use water to dissolve the tablet.

Drink a glass or two of milk after taking vesicare liquid. You may experience an unpleasant aftertaste if you take the liquid along with other foods or drinks.Keep vesicare® LS at room temperature and away from heat or moisture. Keep the bottle closed tightly when not in use. After 28 days, throw away all unused fluid.

What happens if I miss the dose?

Do not take the missed tablet and continue to use the next regular dose. Take no more than one dose a day.If you miss a dose, skip it if you are more than 12 hours late. Never take more than one dose at the same time.

What happens if I overdose?

Call 1-800-222-1222 for poison help or seek immediate medical attention.

Avoid this

Do not drive or engage in hazardous activities until you have a better understanding of how vesicare will affect you. You may be unable to react properly.

Exercise and hot weather are both ways to avoid becoming dehydrated or overheated. Vesicare can reduce perspiration, and this may make you more susceptible to heatstroke.

Interaction with other drug

It is sometimes not safe to take certain drugs at the same time. Some medications can cause side effects that increase or decrease the effectiveness of another drug you are taking.

Vesicare can be affected by many drugs. These include prescription drugs, over-the-counter medications, vitamins, and herbal products. This list does not include all interactions. Inform your doctor of all medications you are currently taking and those that you will stop or start using.
