Galzin

Drug class: minerals, electrolytes, and zinc acetate.

What is Galzin?

The mineral zinc is used in the treatment of Wilson’s disease. This is a rare genetic disorder where copper accumulates in vital organs like the liver or brain. Galzin is given to patients who have been treated with a copper-chelating drug. Galzin can be used in other ways not mentioned in this guide.

Side effects of Galzin

If you experience any of the following symptoms of an allergic reaction, seek immediate medical attention: hives, difficulty breathing, swelling of your lips, face, tongue, or throat.

Galzin can cause serious side effects. If you experience:

  • Speech problems;
  • Unusual changes in mood or behavior

Side effects of galzine include:

  • Upset stomach;
  • Abnormal lab tests.

Before you take this drug

If you have an allergy to galzine, then it is best not to use this product.

Notify your doctor of any of the following issues:

  • Kidney disease
  • Malabsorption is a condition where your body has difficulty absorbing nutrients from food.

Informing your physician of any anticipated or actual pregnancies or plans to become pregnant is vitally important. Galzin should not be taken while breastfeeding. Galzin is not recommended for children younger than 10 years of age.

How to take Galzin?

Read all instructions or guides that come with your medication and follow all directions. Follow the directions on the label. Do not eat for at least an hour, or wait 2 to 3 hours before eating. Take Galzin between breakfast and noon if it upsets your stomach. Do not open, crush, chew on or break the capsule. Galzin is best taken regularly for maximum benefit. Medical tests will be required. Store at room temperature away from moisture, heat and light to preserve their value.

What happens if I miss the dose?

If it is nearly time for your next dose, try skipping any missed one - never take two doses at the same time!

What should be avoided?

Galzin can be absorbed more slowly by your body if you avoid certain foods. You should avoid milk, coffee, and bread. You should follow your doctor's advice.

Interaction with other drug

Inform your doctor of all other medications you are taking, including antiviral medicines to treat HIV. Galzin may interact with other drugs, such as prescription and over-the-counter medicines, vitamins, and herbal products. Inform your doctor of all the other medications you take.
