What is Fyavolv?

Ethinyl estradiol is a type of estrogen. Estrogen, a female hormone essential for many bodily processes, is necessary to maintain sexual function. Norethindrone, a form of progesteroneThe female hormone progesterone plays a role in the regulation of menstruation and ovulation. Fyavolv is a combination medication used to treat menopause symptoms such as hot flushes and vaginal dryness. It also treats burning and irritation. It can also be used to prevent osteoporosis. Fyavolv can be used in other ways not mentioned in this guide.

Side effects of Fyavolv

If you experience any of the following signs and symptoms of an allergic reaction: difficulty breathing, hives or swelling to your face, lips or throat - please seek medical help immediately!

Fyavolv can cause serious side effects. Fyavolv should be stopped immediately, and you should consult your doctor if:

  • Heart attack symptoms: chest pain or pressure; pain spreading to the jaw or shoulder area; nausea; and sweating.
  • Increased blood pressure—severe migraine, blurred vision or pounding in the neck and ears, anxiety, and nosebleeds;
  • Signs of stroke: sudden numbness, weakness, or headache (especially one side), slurred or distorted speech, or problems with vision, balance, or coordination;
  • Signs of blood clot include sudden vision loss, stabbing pain in the chest, feeling short of breath and coughing blood as well as experiencing leg pain or warmth on one or both legs.
  • Your abdomen could experience swelling or tenderness.
  • Jaundice refers to an abnormal yellowing of skin and eyes.
  • Unusual vaginal bleeding and pelvic pain
  • Breast lumps;
  • Memory problems, confusion, and unusual behavior
  • High levels of calcium in the blood can cause nausea, vomiting, constipation, or increased thirst and urination. Other symptoms include muscle weakness, bone pains, and a lack of energy.

Fyavolv can cause the following side effects:

  • Stomach pain;
  • Bloating, swelling, and weight gain
  • Breast pain
  • Light vaginal bleeding;
  • Hair loss on the scalp;

Warnings

Do not take this medication if: you are suffering from undiagnosed vaginal bleeds; you have liver disease; or you have a bleeding disorder; if your surgery will be major; or if any of these conditions apply to you, such as a bleeding disorder, heart attack, stroke, blood clot, or cancer in the breast, uterus/cervix, or vagina. Do not use it if you are pregnant. This medicine can increase your risk of developing a condition that may lead to cancer of the uterus. Do not ignore any abnormal vaginal bleeding. Fyavolv is not recommended for the prevention of heart disease or stroke.

Before you take this drug

Fyavolv should not be used if:

  • Unusual vaginal bleeding that goes undetected;
  • Liver disease
  • A bleeding disorder;
  • History of heart attack, stroke or blood clot
  • A history of cancers of the breast, uterus, cervix, or vagina

Do not use it if you are pregnant.Notify your doctor immediately if you become pregnant during treatment. This medicine increases your risk of stroke, heart attack, and blood clots. This risk is increased if your blood pressure or cholesterol levels are high. Fyavolv shouldn't be used to treat heart disease, stroke, or dementia because it can actually increase the risk.

Inform your physician of any of the following issues:

  • Heart Disease
  • Pregnancy or taking hormones may increase your chances of liver damage or jaundice.
  • Kidney disease
  • Hereditary agioedema
  • Bone tumor
  • Lupus;
  • Asthma;
  • Epilepsy or another seizure disorder
  • Migraines;
  • Porphyria is a genetic disorder of the enzymes that can cause symptoms in the skin and nervous system.
  • Gallbladder disease
  • Endometriosis or uterine fibroid tumors;
  • A thyroid disorder
  • Calcium levels in the blood can be high or low.

Fyavolv can increase the risk of breast, uterine, and ovarian cancer. Speak to your doctor about the risk. This medicine may slow down the production of breast milk. Inform your doctor if breastfeeding is a possibility.

How to take Fyavolv?

Read all instructions or guides that come with your medication and follow all directions. Follow the directions on the label. Take this medication at approximately the same time every day at approximately the same time of day. Doing this ensures maximum effectiveness! Fyavolv may increase your risk for conditions which could eventually progress into uterine carcinoma, so your physician may prescribe progesterone as a measure to decrease this risk. Any unusual vaginal bleeding should also be reported immediately to them. Your doctor should check in regularly (every 3-6 months) in order to ascertain that this treatment is right for you, while also regularly self-examining for lumps in your breasts and receiving mammograms. Depending on your planned procedure or confinement period, Fyavolv may need to be temporarily stopped before surgery begins or long term care commences. You should inform all treating physicians that Fyavolv may affect them before making their recommendations. Store at room temperature away from heat and moisture to prolong shelf life.

What happens if I miss the dose?

If it is almost time for your next dose, skip any that has already passed without taking both at the same time. Never double dose any medication at once.

What happens if I overdose?

Call the Poison Help Line at 1-800-222-1222 or seek emergency medical care. Overdose symptoms include nausea, vomiting, or vaginal blood.

What should be avoided?

Smoking is harmful. Fyavolv can increase your risk of blood clots and heart attacks. Grapefruit can interact with Fyavolv, causing unwanted side effects. Use grapefruit products sparingly.

Interaction with other drug

It is sometimes not a good idea to take certain medications together. Some drugs may alter the blood levels of medications you are currently taking, increasing side effects or making them less effective than anticipated. Fyavolv may interact with various prescription and over-the-counter medicines, vitamins, and herbal products. Inform your healthcare provider of all medications you are currently taking or intend to take in order to protect their safety.
