What is Fungicure?

Undecylenic acid works by preventing the growth of fungus on your skin. Fungicure is used for skin infections caused by fungus. Examples include athlete’s foot or jock itch. This medication guide does not list all possible uses of fungicure.

Side effects of Fungicure

When experiencing symptoms of an allergic reaction, seek medical assistance immediately: difficulty breathing, hives or swelling to your lips or throat.

Fungi may cause serious side effects. Fungicure should be stopped immediately, and you should consult your doctor if:

  • The skin may be irritated or burn severely.
  • Any new skin symptoms.

Before you take this drug

Fungicure should not be used if you have an allergy to it. If you have sensitive or allergic skin, ask your doctor or pharmacist whether fungicure can be used. Do not administer this medicine to an infant without first consulting with their healthcare provider. Consult your doctor before taking this medication if you're pregnant or breastfeeding.

How to take Fungicure?

Follow the instructions on the label or those prescribed by your doctor. Take it only by mouth. Topical medicines are only to be used on the skin. Only use the fungicure formulation that is made for the area of the body you are treating, such as the feet, groin, or nails. If you don't use the right formulation, this medicine won't work. Fungicure should not be used by a child under the age of 12 without adult supervision. After using the medicine, wash your hands. Apply Fungicure to your feet and between your toes. Covering treated skin with bandages is not recommended. To protect your clothes, you can cover the treated skin with cotton gauze.

Stay warm by wearing loose clothing made of natural materials like cotton. Once an infection has cleared up, try switching back to loose fitting cotton clothing until your condition improves.Wear loose cotton clothing or other natural fibers to keep the infection from spreading. While treating athletes' feet, you should change your socks and shoes at least daily. If your symptoms persist after four weeks of treatment, call your doctor. Even if you feel better quickly, continue to take this medication for the prescribed time. Store at room temperature away from moisture or heat and away from moisture or heat sources.

What happens if I miss the dose?

If it is close to time for your next dose, skip any missed one and wait. Never apply two doses at once.

What happens if I overdose?

Overdoses of fungus are not considered dangerous. If anyone accidentally swallows the medication, seek emergency medical care or call Poison Help at 1-800-222-1222.

What should be avoided?

Avoid getting fungi in your eyes. Rinse with water if you do.

Interaction with other drug

Other drugs that you take are unlikely to affect the medicine applied to your skin. Many drugs interact with each other. Inform your healthcare providers of all the medicines you take, including prescriptions, over-the-counter medicines, vitamins, and herbal products.
