What is Fluzone Quadrivalent 2021-2022?

Influenza (the flu) is an infectious viral illness spread by contact with infected surfaces or air. The flu symptoms include a fever, chills, fatigue, aches, a sore throat, coughing, vomiting, and diarrhea. Flu can cause ear infections and sinus infections. It may also lead to bronchitis or more serious complications, like pneumonitis. Influenza is responsible for thousands of deaths and hospitalizations each year. Children, pregnant women, and older adults are at greatest risk, as are people with weak immune systems or other health conditions such as heart disease or cancer. Fluzone quadrivalent 2021-2022 can be used by adults and children aged at least six months to prevent influenza virus infection. This vaccine will help your body build immunity against the disease. It won't treat an infection that you have already contracted.

Quadrivalent for 2021-2022 contains strains of the inactivated flu virus recommended by health officials each year. Fluzone Quadrivalent (flu shot), an injectable, is made of "killed virus." This medicine is available as a nasal spray, which is "live virus" vaccination. The information in this medication guide is only for the injectable version of this vaccine. Fluzone Quadrivalent 2020-2022, like any other vaccine, may not protect everyone from illness.
