What is Fluzone PF Quadrivalent 2021-2022?

Influenza (the flu) is an airborne or surfaceborne viral illness which spreads easily, often via inhalation of its particles or surfaces. The flu symptoms include fevers, chills, fatigue, aches and pains, a sore neck, coughing, nausea, and diarrhea. Flu can cause serious complications, like pneumonia. Influenza is responsible for thousands of deaths and hospitalizations each year. Children, pregnant women, and older adults are at greatest risk, as are people with weak immune systems or other health conditions such as heart disease or cancer. Fluzone PF quadrivalent 2021-2022 can be used by adults and children aged at least six months to prevent influenza virus infection. This vaccine will help your body develop immunity against certain viruses, but won't treat an existing infection.

Fluzone PF quadrivalent 2021-2022: a new formulation is developed each year. It contains strains of flu virus that have been inactivated or killed and have been recommended by public health officials that year. Fluzone PF quadrivalent injectable 2021-2022 is made of "killed virus." This medicine is available as a nasal spray, which is a "live virus" vaccination. The information in this medication guide is only for the injectable version of this vaccine. Fluzone PF quadrivalent 2021-2022, like any vaccine, may not protect everyone from disease.

Side effects of Fluzone PF Quadrivalent 2021-2022

If you experience any of the following signs and symptoms of an allergic reaction: hives, difficulty breathing or swelling of lips, face, tongue or throat. Seek medical assistance immediately. If you experienced an allergic reaction after your initial dose, a booster shot is not advised. Keep track of all side effects. You will need to inform the vaccine provider of any side effects you experienced after receiving the Fluzone PF quadrivalent in 2021–2022. Fluzone PF quadrivalent 2021-2022 contains "killed" viruses and won't make you sick with flu viruses. You can have a flu-like illness at any time of the flu season. This could be due to other strains.

Fluzone PF quadrivalent 2021-2022 can cause serious side effects. If you experience:

  • A feeling of lightheadedness, as if you could pass out.
  • You may experience a sudden and severe feeling of weakness in your arms or legs.
  • Feelings of numbness or pain;
  • Hearing or vision problems
  • A fever above 101 degrees F

Fluzone PF quadrivalent 2021-2022 side effects may include:

  • Pain, redness, or tenderness; swelling, bruising, or a lump at the site of the injection
  • Diarrhoea, loss of appetite
  • Muscle pain;
  • Headache, tiredness;
  • In a child, fussiness, crying, or drowsiness are common.

Before you take this drug

This vaccine may not be available to you if you have an allergy to eggs or previous severe reactions to flu vaccines.

If you:

  • A weak immune system, caused by illness or certain medicines.
  • A history of Guillain-Barre syndrome within 6 weeks after receiving the flu vaccine

If you are experiencing symptoms of a minor cold, vaccination could provide protection.Wait until you are better if you have a severe illness, such as a fever or infection. Inform your vaccine provider if you are pregnant or nursing. The Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC) recommend that women who are pregnant get a flu vaccine during any trimester to protect their babies and themselves from the flu. It is not recommended that pregnant women use the nasal spray version of the influenza vaccine.

How to take Fluzone PF Quadrivalent 2021-2022?

This vaccine is not recommended for children. Your child's vaccine provider can recommend which Fluzone PF quadrivalent (2021-2022) is best for your child. This vaccine is administered as a shot (injection) into the muscle. A second vaccine may be needed for children aged 6 months to 8 months after the first one. Fluzone PF quadrivalent 2021-2022 can be administered in November or October. Follow the recommendations of either your doctor or local department of health for your best outcomes. Fluzone PF quadrivalent 2021-2022 is developed each year to target specific strains. You should therefore receive a flu shot every year.

What happens if I miss the dose?

If you have forgotten to get your annual flu shot in November or October, or if your children missed a booster dose, call your doctor.

What happens if I overdose?

It is very unlikely that this vaccine will cause an overdose.

What should be avoided?

If your vaccine provider has given any instructions regarding food, beverages or activities you must refrain from engaging in, please adhere to them.

Interaction with other drug

If you are currently taking any of these drugs, or receiving other treatments concurrently, receiving a vaccination may not be an option or may need to wait until they have concluded before receiving one.
