What is Flucelvax PF Quadrivalent 2023-2024?

Influenza (the flu) is a contagious illness caused by a viral infection that can be spread through the air or surfaces. The flu symptoms include fevers, chills, fatigue, aches and pains, a sore neck, coughing, nausea, and diarrhea. Flu can cause ear infections and sinus infections. It may also lead to bronchitis or more serious complications, like pneumonia. Influenza is responsible for thousands of deaths and hospitalizations each year. Children, pregnant women, and older adults are at greatest risk, as are people with weak immune systems or other health conditions such as heart disease or cancer. Flucelvax Quadrivalent 2023-2024 can be used by adults and children aged at least six months to prevent influenza virus infection. This vaccine will help your body build immunity against certain viruses, but won't treat existing infections.

Flucelvax Quadrivalent 2023-2024, developed each year by the public health authorities for that particular year, contains specific strains (inactivated) of the flu virus. Flucelvax Quadrivalent 2023-2024, an injectable flu shot, is made of "killed virus." This medicine is available as a nasal spray, which is a "live virus" vaccination. The information in this medication guide is only for the injectable version of this vaccine. Flucelvax Quadrivalent 2023-2024, like any other vaccine, may not protect everyone from disease.
