What is Flublok Quadrivalent 2020–2024?

Influenza (the flu) is a contagious illness caused by a viral infection that can be spread through the air or surfaces. The flu symptoms include fevers, chills, and fatigue, as well as aches and a sore throat. vomiting and diarrhea. Flu can cause sinus infections and ear infections. It may also lead to bronchitis or more serious complications, like pneumonia. Influenza is responsible for thousands of deaths and hospitalizations each year. Children, pregnant women, and older adults are at greatest risk, as are people with weak immune systems or other health conditions such as heart disease or cancer. Flublok quadrivalent is intended for adults and children aged at least six months to help prevent influenza virus infection. This vaccine will help your body build immunity against the disease. It won't treat an infection that you have already contracted.

Flublok quadrivalent 2023-2024, a new formulation each year, contains specific strains (inactivated) of flu virus that are recommended for that particular year by public health officials. Flublok Quadrivalent (flu shot), an injectable, is made of "killed virus." This medicine is available as a nasal spray, which is a "live virus" vaccination. The information in this medication guide is only for the injectable version of this vaccine. Flublok quadrivalent 2023-2024, like any other vaccine, may not protect everyone from disease.

Side effects of Flublok Quadrivalent 2023-2024

If you experience any of the following signs of an allergic reaction, seek medical assistance immediately: hives, difficulty breathing or swelling in lips, face, tongue or throat. If you experienced an acute allergic reaction after receiving your initial dose, booster shots are not advised. Keep track of all your side effects. You will need to inform the vaccine provider of any side effects you experienced after receiving the Flublok quadrivalent in 2023-2024. Flublok quadrivalent 2023-2024 contains "killed" viruses and won't make you sick with flu viruses. You can experience flu-like symptoms during the flu season. This could be due to other strains.

Flublok Quadrivalent can cause serious side effects. If you experience:

  • A feeling of lightheadedness, as if you could pass out.
  • You may experience a sudden and severe feeling of weakness in your arms or legs.
  • Feelings of numbness or pain;
  • Hearing or vision problems
  • A fever above 101 degrees F

Flublok quadrivalent 2023-2024 can cause the following side effects:

  • Pain, redness, or tenderness; swelling, bruising, or a lump at the site of the injection
  • Diarrhoea, accompanied by a loss of appetite
  • Muscle pain;
  • Headache, tiredness;
  • In a child, fussiness, crying, or drowsiness are common.

Warnings

Flublok Quadrivalent is made of "killed virus" and won't make you sick with the flu virus.

Before you take this drug

This vaccine may not be available to you if you have an allergy to eggs or previous severe reactions to flu vaccines.

If you:

  • A weak immune system, caused by disease or certain medicines.
  • A history of Guillain-Barre syndrome within 6 weeks of receiving the flu vaccine

If you are suffering from a minor cold, it is possible to receive a vaccination. Wait until you are better if you have a severe illness, such as a fever or infection. Inform the vaccine provider if you are pregnant or nursing. The Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC) recommend that women who are pregnant get a flu vaccine during any trimester to protect their babies and themselves from the flu. It is not recommended that pregnant women use the nasal spray version of the influenza vaccine.

How to take Flublok Quadrivalent 2020–2024?

This vaccine is not recommended for children. Your child's vaccine provider can recommend which Flublok quadrivalent (2023-2024) is best for your child. This vaccine is administered as a shot (injection) into the muscle. A second vaccine may be needed for children aged 6 months to 8 months after the first one. Flublok quadrivalent 2023-2024, also known as Flublok 2023-2024, is typically administered in November or October.Follow the advice of both your physician and local department of health when making health-related decisions. Flublok quadrivalent 2023-2024, which is developed each year to target specific strains of flu, should be administered every year.

What happens if I miss the dose?

If you have forgotten to get your annual flu shot in November or October, or if your children missed a booster dose, call your doctor.

What happens if I overdose?

It is very unlikely that this vaccine will cause an overdose.

What should be avoided?

If your vaccine provider has given you any instructions regarding restrictions in food, beverage, or activity, follow them.

Interaction with other drug

You may be unable to get the vaccine if you are taking any of these drugs, or you may have to wait until your other treatments are complete.

  • Steroid medicine;
  • Treatment of psoriasis or arthritis.
  • Medicines to treat or prevent transplant rejection
