What is Fibrin sealant topical?

The fibrin sealant is made from two human plasma-derived substances that help to clot your blood. The topical fibrin sealant is used to control bleeding when other methods of closing a wound (such as stitching, bandaging, or heating) are not possible. Fibrin topical can also be used to stop leaks after a colonostomy has been removed. Fibrin Sealant Topical is used to help skin tissue stick together when skin grafts or cosmetic surgery are performed. This medication guide does not list all possible uses for Fibrin Sealant Topical.

Side effects of Fibrin sealant topical

If you experience any of the following symptoms, seek emergency medical attention: hives; itching; warmth; redness; numbness; tingly sensation; nausea; vomiting; feeling lightheaded; fast or slow pulsebeats; wheezing; chest tightness; trouble breathing; swelling on your face, lips, or tongue. Sometimes, fibrin sealant is applied using a device that applies gas pressure. High pressure can cause air or gas to be released under the skin tissue, which then travels throughout the body. It is more likely to happen when a healthcare provider uses high pressure settings incorrectly during the spraying of fibrin sealant. The trapped air or gas can have serious or even life-threatening consequences. Speak to your doctor about the risk.
