What is Fiber Tabs?

Fiber tabs are a laxative that increases the water content in your stool to make it softer and easier for you to pass. Fiber tabs help to maintain regular bowel movements and treat constipation. The fiber tabs can be used in other ways than those listed in the medication guide.

Side effects of Fiber Tabs

If you experience any of the following symptoms of an allergic reaction, seek immediate medical attention: hives, difficulty breathing, swelling of your lips, face, tongue, or throat.

Fiber tabs can cause serious side effects. If you experience:

  • Rectal bleeding, severe abdominal cramps,

  • Fiber tabs are not effective if you have no bowel movements within 3 days of using them.

Fiber tabs can cause the following side effects:

  • Mild stomach pain

  • Bloating;

Before you take this drug

Fiber Tabs should not be used if you have an allergy to Fiber Tabs, mineral oils, or sodium laurelsulfate (such as betadine).

If you have other medical conditions or concerns, check with your physician or pharmacist whether taking this medicine will be safe.

  • Irritable Bowel Syndrome

  • Trouble swallowing

  • Symptoms of stomach pain include nausea and vomiting.

  • A blockage of your intestines

  • A history of bleeding in your rectum

  • Substantial changes to one's bowel habits that last more than 2 weeks should be reported immediately to their healthcare providers.

  • Have You Been Constipated for More Than 7 Days? If that has been your experience, get help immediately to restore bowel function!

If you are pregnant or breastfeeding, consult your doctor before using Fiber Tabs. This medicine contains phenylalanine. If you suffer from phenylketonuria, talk to your doctor about fiber tabs. Do not administer this medicine to young children without consulting a physician.

How to take Fiber Tabs?

Fiber tabs should be taken between one and four times each day, following all instructions listed on your label or issued by a physician. Only use what is recommended as excessive use may damage nerves, muscles or tissues of your intestines causing irreparable harm. This medicine should be taken with 8 ounces of water or other liquid, followed by one additional glass. You must chew and swallow a chewable tablet prior to drinking water from a glass before swallowing. Chewing should take place before sucking on and swallowing of course! Fiber Tabs may swell if taken without enough liquid, which may result in choking in older adults. If symptoms include chest pain, nausea, difficulty swallowing or breathing problems following dosage take-in of Fiber Tabs then seek medical care immediately. Ensure to drink enough fluid every day when taking Fiber Tabs so as to have a bowel motion within 12 - 3 days (if symptoms continue beyond three days of treatment call your physician immediately); store away from heat and moisture at room temperature to preserve shelf life and ensure shelf- life longevity of tablets over their shelf-life of shelf-life shelf-life span!

What happens if I miss the dose?

Fiber tabs can be used as needed, and you do not need to follow a schedule. If you have a regular schedule, take the missed dose as quickly as you can. If your next scheduled dosage is approaching, skip the missed dose. You should not take extra medicine to compensate for a missed dose.

What happens if I overdose?

Call 1-800-222-1222 for poison help or seek immediate medical attention.

What should be avoided?

Fiber tabs should not be taken within 2 hours of taking any other medicine.Laxatives may interfere with the absorption of other medications.

Interaction with other drug

Polycarbophil may interact with other drugs, such as prescription and over-the-counter medicines, vitamins, and herbal products. Inform all healthcare providers of all the medications you are currently taking or planning on taking in order to receive proper guidance and care.
