What is Dulcolax Liquid?

Magnesium occurs naturally. Dulcolax liquid reduces stomach acids and increases water levels in the intestines, which can induce bowel movements. Dulcolax liquid is used to treat occasional constipation. Dulcolax Liquid can also be used to treat indigestion, heartburn, and a sour stomach. Dulcolax liquid can be used in other ways not mentioned in this guide.

Side effects of Dulcolax Liquid

If you experience any of the following signs and symptoms of an allergic reaction: difficulty breathing, hives or swelling to face lips throat area

Dulcolax liquid may cause serious side effects. If you experience:

  • Severe nausea, vomiting, or diarrhea;
  • No bowel movements after taking the laxative medicine;
  • Rectal bleeding
  • Symptoms of worsening

Dulcolax liquid can cause the following side effects:

  • Diarrhea;
  • A decreased sense of smell.

If:

  • You have kidney disease.
  • You are following a diet low in magnesium.
  • You have experienced a sudden and persistent change in your bowel habits for more than two weeks.

Consult your doctor before taking this medication if you're pregnant or nursing.

How to take Dulcolax Liquid?

Adhere to any instructions provided on your label or by your doctor. Measuring liquid medicine is important. Use the provided dosing device or a dose-measuring tool (not a spoon). Before each use, you may need to shake the oral suspension. The chewable tablet must be chewed before it can be swallowed. This medicine should be taken with 8 ounces of water. Dulcolax liquid should cause a bowel motion within 30 minutes up to 6 hours when taken as a laxative. If the condition that you are treating with Dulcolax Liquid doesn't improve or worsens while taking this medication, call your doctor. Dulcolax liquid should not be used for more than seven days without consulting a doctor. Store away from heat and moisture at room temperature.

What happens if I miss the dose?

Dulcolax Liquid can be used as needed, and you don't need to follow a schedule.If it is almost time for the next dose, skip any missed ones. Never take two doses in one go.

What happens if I overdose?

Call 1-800-222-1222 immediately if you suspect an overdose, or seek immediate medical advice. Overdose symptoms include diarrhea, muscle weakness, and shortness of breath.

What should be avoided?

If your doctor prescribes any restrictions regarding food, beverage, or activity, follow their instructions.
