What is Drixoral Decongestant Non-Drowsy?

Drixoral Non-Drowsy Decongestant is used for nasal and sinus congestion or to relieve congestion in the tubes draining fluid from the inner ear, known as the eustachian tube. This medication guide does not list all possible uses of Drixoral Non-Drowsy.

Side effects of Drixoral Decongestant Non-drowsy

If you experience any of the following signs and symptoms of an allergic reaction: difficulty breathing, hives or swelling to lips, face, tongue or throat - seek medical assistance immediately!

Drixoral Decongestant Non-Drowsy may cause serious side effects. If you experience:

  • Dizziness;
  • Nervousness;
  • Sleep problems (insomnia).

Similar/related drugs

Before you take this drug

If you have an allergy to Drixoral Deongestant Non-Drowsy, then it is best not to use this product. Drixoral Non-Drowsy should not be used if an MAO inhibitor has been taken in the last 14 days. A harmful drug interaction may occur. MAO inhibitors are isocarboxazid (linezolid), phenelzine (phenelzine injection), rasagiline (selegiline), methylene blue injection, tranylcypromine, and others.

If you have had any of the following:

  • Heart disease, or high blood pressure.
  • Urination and an enlarged prostate
  • Diabetes;
  • A thyroid disorder.

Consult your doctor before taking this medication if you're pregnant or nursing.

How to take Drixoral Decongestant Non-Drowsy?

Follow the instructions on the label or those prescribed by your doctor. This medication should not be given to children younger than four years of age.Always consult a medical provider prior to giving any cough or cold medications to your child.Children as young as 4 years old can die from misusing cough and cold medications. Take it with water. You should not chew or crush an extended-release tablet. Swallow the entire tablet. It may be necessary to shake the liquid oral suspension before measuring a dose. Use either the dosing syringe provided, a dose-measuring cup/spoon or your pharmacist if you do not own any device to measure doses accurately. If your symptoms do not improve within 7 days or if a high fever develops, consult with a healthcare provider immediately Store away from heat and moisture at room temperature.

What happens if I miss the dose?

You may not have a schedule for Drixoral Non-Drowsy since it is taken as needed. If you have a regular schedule, take the missed dose immediately after you remember.If your next scheduled dose is soon approaching, do not take an extra one. Instead, wait to schedule one until your scheduled one occurs before making up any missed ones. You should not take extra medicine to compensate for a missed dose.

What happens if I overdose?

What should be avoided?

This medication should not be taken if you are also taking diet pills, caffeine, or any other stimulants. Combining a stimulant with a nasal decongestant may increase the risk of side effects. Before using any other cold or cough medicine, consult your doctor or pharmacist. Drixoral non-drowsiness is often found in combination medications. You can get too much medicine by taking certain products together.

Interaction with other drug

Drixoral non-drowsiness may be affected by other drugs, such as vitamins and herbal supplements. Inform your doctor of all the other medications you take.
