What is Dristan Cold Multi Symptom Formula?

Acetaminophen relieves pain and reduces fever. Chlorpheniramine reduces histamine's effects in the body. Histamine may cause symptoms such as sneezing and itching. It can also lead to watery or runny eyes. Phenylephrine shrinks the blood vessels in the nasal passages. Dilated vessels in the nasal passages can lead to congestion. Dristan Cold Multi-Symptom Formula contains a variety of medicines that treat symptoms such as headaches, fevers, body pains, runny or stuffy noses, itchiness, watery eyelids, and sinus congestion caused by allergies, colds, or flu. Dristan Cold Multi-Symptom Formula can be used in other ways not mentioned in the medication guide.

Side Effects of Dristan Cold Multi Symptom Formula

If you experience any of the following symptoms of an allergy: difficulty breathing, hives, swelling in your lips, face, throat, or tongue Acetaminophen can cause severe reactions in some people, even when they have never had a reaction before. Call your doctor immediately if the skin redness spreads, blisters, or peels.

The side effects of this medicine can be serious. If you experience:

  • Chest pain with a rapid or irregular heartbeat;
  • Confusion, hallucinations, and severe anxiety
  • Tremor, seizure (convulsions);
  • Easy bruising, bleeding, or unusual weakness
  • Little or no urinating is acceptable.
  • Dark urine, clay-colored stools, nausea (pain in the upper abdomen), itching, and loss of appetite
  • Dangerously high blood pressure symptoms include severe headaches, blurred or buzzing vision, chest pains, anxiety, difficulty breathing, and irregular heartbeats.

Senior adults may suffer side effects including dry mouth, confusion or constipation.

Dristan Cold Multi-Symptom Formula side effects may include:

Warnings

This medicine should not be used if in the last 14 days you took an MAO-inhibitor, including isocarboxazid or linezolid.

Don't take this medicine in excess. Overdosing on acetaminophen may cause liver damage or death. Acetaminophen can cause severe reactions to the skin in rare instances. If you notice skin redness, a rash, or blistering that causes peeling and blistering, stop taking the medicine immediately and contact your doctor.

Before you take this drug

This medication should not be used if you have an allergy to acetaminophen or chlorpheniramine. You should not take this medication if you've taken an MAO inhibitor in the last 14 days. A dangerous drug interaction may occur. The MAO inhibitors are isocarboxazid (linezolid), phenelzine (rasagiline), selegiline (tranylcypromine), and rasagiline.

If you are suffering from any other health conditions or symptoms, you should consult your doctor before taking this medication.

Dristan Cold Multi-Symptom Formula is safe for pregnant women. If you're pregnant, do not take this medication without consulting your doctor. The medication can pass through breast milk, which could harm nursing babies. Antihistamines, decongestants, and other medications can also reduce breast milk production. If you're breastfeeding, do not take this medication without consulting your doctor.

How to take Dristan Cold Multi Symptom Formula?

Do not exceed the recommended dosage or duration. Use only the recommended dose. Do not exceed it. This medication is typically taken for only a few days until the symptoms disappear. Don't take this medicine in excess. Acetaminophen overdoses can cause liver damage or death. Do not use a normal table spoon to measure liquid medicines. Use a dose-measuring cup or spoon. Ask your pharmacist if you don't have one. Pour the tablets into a half cup of water or at least four ounces. This mixture should be stirred and consumed immediately. This medication should not be given to children younger than four years of age. Ask a doctor first before you give a child a cold or cough medicine. What happens if I miss the dose?

Dristan Cold Multi-Symptom Formula can be taken as needed. You may not have a regular dosing regimen. Take the missed dosage as soon as possible if you take this medication regularly. If your next dose is approaching, skip the missed dose. You should not take more medicine to compensate for a missed dose.

What happens if I overdose?

Call the Poison Help Line at 1-800-222-1222 or seek emergency medical care. Acetaminophen overdoses can lead to death. Loss of appetite, nausea and vomiting, abdominal pain, sweating, or confusion are the first symptoms of an overdose of acetaminophen. Other symptoms include dark urine and yellowing skin or whites of the eyes.

What should be avoided?

Before using any other medication for colds, allergies, pain, or insomnia, consult your doctor or pharmacist. Many combination medications contain acetaminophen, also known as APAP. Taking some products with each other can result in an overdose of acetaminophen. Alcohol is harmful to your liver. Alcohol can cause liver damage and increase the side effects of chlorpheniramine. The medicine can cause blurred or impaired vision or affect your ability to think or react. You should be careful when driving or doing anything else that requires alertness and the ability to see clearly.
