Doptelet

Generic name: A-vatrombopag
Drug class: platelet-stimulating agents

What is Doptelet?

Doptelet can be used to treat thrombocytopenia in adults who have chronic liver disease and are scheduled to undergo medical procedures. Low platelet counts can increase the risk of excessive bleeding when undergoing certain medical procedures. Avatrombopag helps your body produce more platelets to prevent excessive bleeding. Doptelet can also be used to treat low platelet counts among adults with chronic immune thrombocytopenia when other treatments are not working. Doptelet can also be used to treat chronic immunothrombocytopenia if other treatments fail. Doptelet does not cure thrombocytopenia, nor will it restore platelet counts to normal for adults with chronic liver diseases or chronic immune thrombocytopenia.
