What is DermaWerx SDS Pak?
Triamcinolone helps reduce inflammation within the body. DermaWerx (for skin) SDS Pak is used for the treatment of inflammation and itching due to skin disorders that respond to steroids. Triamcinolone is used in the dental topical paste to treat oral ulcers. DermaWerx SDS Pak can be used in other ways not mentioned in the medication guide.
Side effects of DermaWerx SDS Pak
If you experience any of the following signs and symptoms of an allergic reaction: difficulty breathing, hives or any swelling on the lips, face throat or tongue. Seek medical care immediately.
DermaWerx SDS Pak may cause serious side effects. If you experience:
- Skin conditions are worsening;
- Redness, heat, swelling, oozing, or severe irritation on any skin treated
- Blurred vision, pain in the eyes, or halos around lights
- Dry mouth and fruity breath smell;
- Possible signs that DermaWerx SDS Pak has been absorbed through the skin or gums include: weight gain, especially in the face, upper back, and torso; discolored or thinning skin; increased hair on your body; muscle weakness; vomiting or diarrhea. Other symptoms may include fatigue, changes in mood, changes to your menstrual cycle, or sexual changes.
This medicine can be absorbed more easily by children through their skin. They may experience side effects like headaches or eye pain. This medicine can cause a soft bulge on the top of the baby's head (where the skull is still not fully formed).
Some of the common side effects associated with DermaWerx SDSpak include:
- The skin may be irritated by burning, itching, or dryness.
- Redness around the hair follicles.
- Redness around the mouth or itching;
- Allergic skin reactions
- Stretch marks;
- Acne, which causes increased hair growth on the body;
- Skin discoloration or thinning;
- The skin appears white, or even "pruned", when it is covered with tight bandages or another covering.

Please read all instructions provided with your medication carefully, including its package insert or label. Notify doctors of allergies or medical conditions you suffer from as well as which drugs you take.
Before you take this drug
If you have an allergy to triamcinolone, do not use it.
If you've ever:
- Any type of skin infection
- A skin reaction after taking a steroid medication;
- Liver Disease
- An adrenal gland disease is a disorder.
Steroids can cause sugar levels to increase in the blood and urine. Inform your doctor that you suffer from type 2 diabetes. Inform your doctor whether you're pregnant or nursing. Avoid areas where the mouth of a nursing infant may be in contact with triamcinolone if you apply it to your chest.
How to take DermaWerx SDS Pak?
Follow all instructions or guides provided with your medication, and observe any directions given to you by medical practitioners or pharmacies.Follow the directions on your prescription label. DermaWerx SDS Pak is only for skin use. Triamcinolone is applied to an inside-the-mouth ulcer and then left there. DermaWerx SDS Pak should not be swallowed. You should wash your hands both before and after you use DermaWerx SDS Pak unless this medication is being used to treat your hand skin. A thin layer of the medicine should be applied to the affected skin. You should not use this medication to cover a large surface area unless you have been told by your doctor. Cover the area of skin that has been treated only if your doctor says so. The amount of medicine that is absorbed by your skin can be increased if you cover the treated area. This may have harmful side effects.
Use only loose-fitting or plastic diapers if you're treating your diaper area. Use the paste by pressing a tiny dab on the ulcer, but don't rub it in. This will leave a thin layer that you should keep for several hours. Triamcinolone is applied to the teeth at night or after eating. Please follow your doctor's directions. If your symptoms don't improve or worsen, call your doctor. Triamcinolone toothpaste should help heal a mouth ulcer within a week. Once your symptoms have been controlled, you should discontinue using the medication. Keep away from heat and moisture. Store at room temperature.
What happens if I miss the dose?
If you are close to your next dose, skip the missed one. Never apply two doses at once.
What happens if I overdose?
If anyone accidentally swallows the medicine, seek emergency medical care or contact the Poison Help Line at 1-800-222-1222. The use of steroids in high doses can cause thinning of the skin or bruising. It may also lead to changes in body weight (especially on your neck, face, back, and waist), acne, facial hair growth, infertility, or a loss of sexual interest.
What should be avoided?
Do not get DermaWerx in your eye. Do not use other topical steroids on areas treated with triamcinolone unless you are told to by your doctor. DermaWerx SDS Pak should not be used to treat conditions that have not been examined by a doctor. This medicine should not be shared with anyone else, even if the other person has similar symptoms.
Interaction with other drug
Other drugs that you take are unlikely to affect the medicine applied to your skin. Many drugs interact. Inform your health care providers of all the medicines that you take, including prescription medicines and over-the-counter medications.
