Details on dosage

The usual pediatric dose for attention deficit disorder:

Daytrana patches should be applied 2 hours prior to the desired effect and removed 9 hours later.
Week 1: Once a day, apply 10 mg of patch to the hips; then remove it 9 hours later.
Week 2: Apply a 15-mg patch once daily to the hip area; remove it 9 hours later.
Week 3: Apply a 20 mg patch once daily to the hip area; remove it 9 hours later.
Week 4: Once a day, apply 30 mg of patch to the hips, then remove it 9 hours later.
Patients converting to methylphenidate from another formulation should use the titration plan above.

What happens if I miss the dose?

Do not leave the patch on for more than nine hours. If you apply a patch later, it may be necessary to reduce the wear time. Wearing two patches simultaneously is not recommended.
