What is Cisatracurium?

Cisatracurium relaxes the muscles, which helps keep you still during surgeries. Cisatracurium relaxes the throat to make it easier to insert a breathing tube before surgery.Cisatracurium can be used in other ways not mentioned in this guide.

Side effects of Cisatracurium

When experiencing symptoms of an allergic reaction, seek medical help immediately: hives, difficulty breathing or swelling to lips, face, tongue or throat.If you experience numbness or loss of mobility in any part of your body, tell your carers immediately.

Cisatracurium can cause a number of side effects.

  • Slow heartbeat
  • Dizziness;
  • Flushing (warmth, tingling, or redness)

Tell your doctor all of your medical conditions to ensure that cisatracurium will not cause any harm.

Before you take this drug

If you have an allergy to cisatracurium or other similar medications used for anaesthesia, then you should not take cisatracurium.

Inform your physician of any of the following issues:

  • A seizure;
  • A disorder of the nerves and muscles such as myasthenia gravis
  • An electrolyte imbalance is a low potassium or magnesium level in the blood.
  • A head injury or brain tumour;
  • An allergic reaction to anaesthesia is possible.

Inform your physician immediately if you become pregnant or nursing.

How to take Cisatracurium?

As cisatracurium can be used in surgery, there is no daily dosage schedule.

What happens if I overdose?

Overdoses are unlikely because cisatracurium will be administered by a healthcare provider in a medical environment.

What should be avoided?

If your doctor prescribes any restrictions regarding food, beverage, or activity, follow their instructions.

Interaction with other drug

Inform your doctor if you take other medications, including:

  • Lithium;
  • Anti-microbial
  • Seizure medication.
