What is Atacand HCT?

Atacand HCT is a combination medicine for treating the problem of high blood pressure (hypertension).Atacand HCT could be used for other purposes that are not mentioned in this guide.

Side effects of Atacand HCT

Seek medical attention immediately. If you are experiencing symptoms that indicate an allergy, such as symptoms of hives, breathing difficulties, or swelling of your lips, face, or tongue,In a few cases, Atacand HCT can cause an illness that causes the breakdown of skeletal tissue, which can lead to kidney damage. Contact your physician immediately when you experience unidentified muscular discomfort or tenderness. You may also experience weakness, particularly if you are suffering from a fever and fatigue that is unusual, as well as dark-colored urine.

Make sure to contact your doctor at any time if you suffer from:

  • Eye pain, vision issues;
  • A feeling of lightheadedness that makes you feel like you're about to pass out.
  • Minimal or no urination;
  • Jaundice (yellowing of the eyes or skin);
  • Easily bruising, unusual bleeding,
  • Symptoms of an electrolyte imbalance: increased thirst or urination, vomiting, constipation, and muscle pain. Weakness, bone pain, leg cramps, fatigue, or irregular heartbeats. You may also experience the sensation of tingling.

Common adverse and negative effects atacand hct could include:

  • Dizziness;
  • Back pain
  • Flu and influenza

Warnings

Avoid using If you are expecting If you find yourself pregnant and discontinue using Atacand HCT, notify your doctor immediately.If you suffer from diabetes, don't use Atacand HCT in conjunction with any medication that has the ingredient aliskiren (a blood pressure medication).

Prior to using this drug

It is not recommended to use this medicine if you're allergic to candesartan or hydrochlorothiazide, or if

  • You aren't able to urinate
  • You're an allergic person to sulfa-containing medications.

If you are diabetic, don't use Atacand HCT in conjunction with any medication containing the ingredient aliskiren (a blood pressure medication).You might also have to stay clear of the use of Atacand HCT with the drug aliskiren in the event that you suffer from renal disease.

Speak to your doctor if you were ever diagnosed with:

  • The liver condition;
  • Congestive heart failure;
  • Glaucoma;
  • Either high or low amounts of potassium found in the blood.
  • Asthma or allergies
  • Excessive cholesterol or triglyceride levels
  • Gout;
  • Lupus;
  • Diabetes
  • There is an allergy to penicillin.

Avoid using this medicine when you are pregnant. Stop taking the medication and inform your doctor right away if you find yourself pregnant. This medication could cause harm or even death to a baby who is not yet born when you use it during the third or second trimester.You shouldn't use this medicine while breastfeeding.

How do I take Attain HCT?

Follow the directions on the prescription label and read the medication guide or instructions sheets. The doctor might alter your dosage. Make sure you take the medicine exactly as prescribed.You can take Atacand HCT either with or without food.Contact your doctor if you are experiencing persistent diarrhea, vomiting diarrhea, or have been sweating more than normal. You could easily get dehydrated when using this medication. This could result in severe lower blood pressure or an electrolyte imbalance.Your blood pressure is likely to be checked regularly. Your urine and blood could be analyzed in case you've had a vomiting episode or are dehydrated.If you are in need of surgical intervention or other medical examinations, inform the surgeon prior to surgery that you're taking Atacand HCT.It could take as long as 4 weeks to see this medication control the blood pressure. Use this medicine according to the directions, regardless of whether you feel good. High blood pressure usually does not have any signs or symptoms. It is possible that you will need blood pressure medications throughout your life.Keep the bottle at room temperature, far from heat and moisture. Make sure the bottle is tightly sealed when not being used.

What happens if I miss the dose?

You should take the medication as quickly as you can. However, avoid any missed doses if it's close to the time of the next dose. Don't have two doses at one time.

What happens if I overdose?

For medical emergencies, seek emergency medical attention or contact the Poison Help Line toll-free at 1-800-222-1222.The symptoms of an overdose can include a fast as well as slower heart rate, feeling lightheaded, and falling asleep.

Aviod this

Do not get up too quickly from a lying or sitting position, as you could be dizzy.Hydrochlorothiazide could increase the chance of developing skin cancer. Avoid sun exposure or tanning beds. Be sure to wear protective clothes and apply sunblock (SPF 30 or more) whenever you're outside. Your physician may ask you to take skin tests every few months.If you are also taking cholestyramine and colestipol, do not take these medicines within 4 hours prior to or 4 hours after taking Atacand HCT.Drinking alcohol may further lower blood pressure and cause adverse side effects.Avoid using sodium supplements or substitutes for salt, except if your doctor has advised you to.

Interaction with other drug

Discuss with your doctor any other medications you take, including:

  • Lithium
  • The nsaids (nonsteroidal anti-inflammatory drugs) are aspirin, ibuprofen (advil, motrin), naproxen (aleve), celecoxib, diclofenac, indomethacin, meloxicam, and many more.
