What is Asmanex?

Warnings

How to take Asmanex?

Usual Adult Dose of Asmanex for Asthma—Maintenance:
Inhalation Aerosol Powder:
Treatment with bronchodilators by themselves or inhaled corticosteroids
Initial dose: 220 mcg taken orally during the evening.
Maximum dosage: 440 mcg in doses divided into 220 mg twice per day or 440 mg every day.
The previous treatment with corticosteroids orally:
Initial dose: 440 mcg taken orally, twice a day.
Maximum dose: 880 mcg
Inhalation Aerosol:
Prior treatment with corticosteroids inhaled at a medium dose
2 inhalations of 100 mg orally, twice daily
Prior treatment with high-dose inhalers and oral corticosteroids
Take two 200 mcg tablets twice daily by mouth for optimal effectiveness.Maximum dose: 800 mcg per day
Patients Currently Receiving Chronic Oral Corticosteroid Therapy:
Prednisone must be slowly weaned, starting with a minimum of one week of therapy.
Monitor for indicators of asthma-related instability, such as the airflow measurement in a series of objective tests, and for indications of adrenal insufficiency while on the taper process of steroid therapy and subsequent stopping of oral corticosteroid treatment.

Two inhalations of 100 mcg orally, twice daily

What happens if I miss the dose?
Take the medication as quickly as you are able, but do not miss your missed dosage if you are close to the time for the next dose. Don't take two doses at once.

What should be avoided?

Interaction with other drug
