Artesunate may cause serious side effects. Contact your physician immediately if you experience:
- Jaundice (yellowing of the eyes or skin);
- Yellowed, pale skin, dark-coloured urine;
- Fever or weakness, confusion
- Kidney issues: swelling, less urination, and feeling tired or exhausted.

Having malaria during pregnancy could increase the risk of stillbirth, miscarriage, premature birth, or a low birth weight.If you're pregnant, then your name might be included on the registry for pregnancy to monitor the effects of ART on the infant.Consult a physician to determine whether it is safe to breastfeed while taking Artesunate.
How to take Artemisinate?
Artesunate can be injected into a vein by a healthcare doctor.You could be prescribed additional malaria medication during or following treatments with the artesunate.Artesunate injections are typically delivered every day until you are able to use malaria medication orally.Medical tests will be required for four weeks following the time the treatment is completed.
