What is Aquatab D?

There are numerous varieties and brands of guaifenesin and phenylephrine available. Not all brands are mentioned on this leaflet.Guaifenesin can be described as an expectorant. It can help ease congestion in your throat and chest, which makes it easy for you to cough out with your mouth.Phenylephrine is a decongestant that shrinks blood vessels within the passages of the nasal airways. Blood vessels that are dilated can cause the nasal passages to become congested (stuffy nasal congestion).Aquatab D is a mixed medicine to treat nasal stuffiness and sinus congestion. It also helps to ease the congestion in the chest caused by the typical flu.Aquatab D could be used for other purposes not covered in this medication guide.

Side effects of Aquatab D

Before you take this drug

You shouldn't use Aquatab D if you are sensitive to it.Do not take Aquatab D if you have used an MAO inhibitor within the last 14 days. A risky drug interaction may occur. MAO inhibitors include isocarboxazid linezolid, phenelzine and selegiline, rasagiline, and tranylcypromine.

Consult a physician or pharmacist to determine if it is safe to use this medicine if you are suffering from:

Decongestants could also reduce the production of breast milk. Do not take this medication without a medical recommendation in the case of breastfeeding babies.Artificially sweetened liquid medications might contain phenylalanine. How to take Aquatab D?

Take it in whole.Drink plenty of fluids to alleviate congestion and to lubricate your throat while taking this medication.Contact your physician if your symptoms don't improve after seven weeks of therapy, if you suffer from a fever, headache, cough, or the appearance of a skin eruption.Place it in a cool, dry place far from heat and moisture.

What happens if I miss the dose?

Because Aquatab D is taken when it is needed, you may not be on a regular dosing schedule. If you take the drug regularly, make sure to take the missed dose immediately when you remember. Do not take your missed dose if it's nearing the time for the next dose. Don't take any extra medication to make up for the missed dose.
