What is Dupixent Pre-filled Pen?
Dupixent pre-filled pens can be used to treat mild to moderate eczema in adults and children aged 6 months or older (atopic dermitis), which cannot be controlled by topical medications applied to the skin. Dupixent Prefilled Pen can also be used by adults and children aged 6 and older, in conjunction with other medications, to treat moderate to severe asthma that cannot be controlled by other asthma medications. rhinosinusitisDupixent Pen Pre-filled is only used in adults for the treatment of a condition known as chronic rhinosinusitis, (long-term inflammation of the sinuses), which is often associated with polyps on the nose. pensDupixent pre-filled pen are used for the treatment of eosinophilic esophagitis among adults and children aged 12 and older who weigh at least 88 pounds. Dupixent Prefilled Pen can also be used to treat nodular prurigo in adult patients. Dupixent pre-filled pens can be used in other ways not mentioned in this guide.
Side effects of Dupixent Pre-filled Pen
If you experience any of the following: itching, hives, rash, or swelling; joint pain; feeling lightheaded; difficulty breathing; feeling swollen lymph glands; or feeling lightheaded,

- New or worsening pain or discomfort in the eye;
- Vision changes
- Watery eyes
- Fast pulse
- Stomach cramps;
- Feeling as if there is something in your eye can be uncomfortable but worrying at the same time, however.
- Blood vessel inflammation: fever, chest pains, difficulty breathing, skin rash, or a prickly sensation in the arms or legs
Side effects of the Dupixent pre-filled pen may include:
- Pain, swelling, irritation, or burning where an injection is given.
- Blood vessel inflammation;
- Red eyelids; or, itching and puffy eyelids
- Stomach pain, nausea, vomiting, and diarrhea;
- Sore throat
- Toothache
- Sleep problems (insomnia);
- Cold symptoms like stuffy noses, sneezing, and sore throats;
- Itching, tingling, or burning pains in the thigh, lower back, or skin
- Joint or muscular pain
- Cold sores on the lips or in the mouth.

Before you take this drug
Dupixent Prefilled Pen should not be used by anyone who is allergic to the product. Dupixent Pen pre-filled should not be administered to children younger than six years of age to treat asthma or eczema. Children younger than six months of age to treat eczema must weigh at least 40 kilograms (88 pounds) and older than twelve years to treat eosinophilic esophagitis.
Tell your doctor if any of the following apply to you:
- Eye problems
- A parasite is an infection, such as tapeworms or roundworms.

Tell your doctor that you have asthma if you are using Dupixent Prefilled Pen for eczema, chronic rhinosinusitis, or nasal polyposis.Inform your physician immediately if you become pregnant or nursing. You may find your name on a registry for pregnant women to monitor the effects of Dupilumab.
How to take Dupixent Pre-filled Pen?
Read all instructions or guides that come with your medication and follow all directions. Follow the directions on the label. Dupixent is not an asthma attack rescue medicine. Only use fast-acting inhalation medicines for an asthma attack. If your breathing problems worsen quickly or you feel that your asthma medication is not working, seek medical attention. Dupixent Prefilled Pen is usually injected into the skin once every 2 to 4 weeks. You may need to administer your first dose in two injections. You may be taught how to use your medication properly by a healthcare provider.Please carefully read and comply with any instructions that come with your medication. If you require help understanding these, reach out to a pharmacist or physician immediately for guidance. Prefilled syringes or injection pens should never be shaken; only prepare an injection once you are completely ready. If any medicine appears cloudy or discolored or contains particles, do not take. In such instances contact your pharmacist.
Dupixent pre-filled pens should be stored in their original cartons in the fridge. Do not freeze, and protect from light. Let the syringe out of the fridge and allow it to reach room temperature between 30 and 45 minutes prior to injecting. Keep the needle cap on your syringe or pen until you're ready to inject. Store a prefilled syringe, or an injection pen, at room temperature for up to 14 days. If the medication is not used in 14 days, throw it away. Don't put it in the fridge.Each prefilled syringe and injection pen are only intended for one-time use. After one use, throw it out, even if the medicine is still inside. The pre-filled pen can be used by adults and children aged 12 and over. Pre-filled syringes are for adults and children aged 6 months and older. Only use a syringe, pen, or needle once. Then place it in a container that is puncture-proof. Be sure to follow local or state laws on how to properly dispose of the container. Keep the container out of the reach of pets and children. Do not stop taking other medications or change the dose without consulting your doctor.
What happens if I miss the dose?
Use the missed dose immediately if you forget and return to your normal injection schedule.
If you miss the injection by more than seven days:
- If you are on an every-other-week schedule, skip the missed dose and take the medication at the next scheduled injection.
- If you are on a schedule of every four weeks, start a new schedule the day after the missed dose and administer your next injection four weeks later.
Use only one dose at a time.
What happens if I overdose?

What should be avoided?
Avoid receiving a "live vaccine" while using Dupixent Prefilled Pen. The vaccine might not be as effective during this period, and you may not get full protection from the disease. Live vaccines are available for measles (MMR), rubella, mumps (MMR), yellow fever, typhoid (chickenpox), varicella, shingles (zoster), and the nasal flu vaccine (influenza).
Interaction with other drug
Tell your doctor about your other medications, including:
- Steroids can be taken orally, topically, or inhaled.
- Any medicine that treats asthma
