What is Vita-Ray Topical?

Vita-Ray is a skin protector. It moisturizes and seals the skin and helps heal it.

This medication can be used to treat diaper rash and dry or chapped skin. It is also effective for minor wounds and burns.Vita-Ray can be used in other ways not mentioned in this guide.

Side Effects of Vita-Ray Topical

If you experience any of the following symptoms of an allergic reaction, seek immediate medical attention: hives, difficulty breathing, swelling of the face, lips, or throat.If your child experiences a serious adverse reaction such as heat, redness, oozing, or severe irritation, stop using the medicine and contact your doctor immediately.

Warnings

If your child has an allergy to this medication, you should not use it. If you have an allergy to this medication, do not use Vita-Ray unless you wear a finger cot or rubber glove.If your child has an allergy to skin care products or medicines, such as soaps, lotions, or oils, ask a pharmacist or doctor if you can use the medication.

If your child experiences a serious adverse reaction such as heat, redness, oozing, or severe irritation, stop using the medicine and contact your doctor immediately.

Keep the diaper area of your baby as dry as you can. To prevent bacteria and wetness from irritating your baby's delicate skin, change soiled or wet diapers as soon as possible. When the baby wakes up each morning and before bedtime, always put a fresh diaper on the baby.

Before you take this drug

If your child has an allergy to skin care products or medicines, such as soaps, oils, or lotions, ask a pharmacist or doctor if you can use the medication.

How to take Vita-Ray Topical?

Do not exceed the recommended dosage or duration. Use the recommended dose and do not exceed it.Keep the diaper area of your baby as dry as you can. To prevent bacteria and wetness from irritating your baby's delicate skin, change soiled or wet diapers as soon as possible. When the baby wakes up each morning and before bedtime, always put on a fresh diaper.

Use a wet, disposable wipe to clean the skin of your baby after each diaper change. Gently wipe between the genitals and the thighs.Clean the area around the boy's diaper by gently cleaning under the scrotum.Always wipe the front of a diaper when cleaning a girl's area.If symptoms don't improve or worsen after one week of treatment, call your doctor.Store away from heat and moisture at room temperature.

What happens if I miss the dose?

As soon as you realize, take the missed dose immediately. If your next scheduled dosage is approaching, skip the missed dose. You should not take extra medicine to compensate for a missed dose.

What happens if I overdose?

If anyone accidentally swallows the medication, seek emergency medical care or call Poison Help at 1-800-222-1222.

What should be avoided?

Do not use other medications to treat the same areas that you have treated with Vita-Ray, unless you are told by your doctor.

Avoid allowing the treated skin to become excessively wet. Dry clothing and diapers.

Interaction with other drug

Vita-Ray applied topically is unlikely to interact with other drugs that you may take orally or by injection. Many drugs interact, however. Inform your doctor of all the medications you take. Included are prescription, over-the-counter, vitamin, and herbal products. Never start a new medicine without consulting your doctor.
