What is Vicks babyrub?

There are many different brands and types of petroleum topicals. This leaflet does not list all brands.Petrolatum, also known as mineral oil, is made of petroleum. Vicks babyrub is a skin-protecting product that can be used to protect minor cuts, scratches, or eczema.Vicks babyrub can also be used to prevent or treat chapped lips and cracked skin. It will also protect the skin from wind or cold conditions.

Vicks babyrub seals in moisture and helps prevent diaper rash or skin irritations caused by bowel or bladder incontinence.Vicks babyrub can be used in other ways not mentioned in this guide.

Side Effects of Vicks babyrub

Vicks babyrub can be applied as required. Cleanse the area before applying Vicks babyrub.If your symptoms don't improve within 7 days of using this medication, or if they clear up but come back again, call your doctor.Store away from heat and moisture at room temperature.

What happens if I miss the dose?

Vicks babyrub can be used as needed. You may not have a schedule. If it is almost time for the next dose, skip any missed dose. Never take two doses in one go.

What happens if I overdose?

Overdoses of petroleum are not dangerous. If anyone accidentally swallows the medication, call 1-800-222-1222 or seek emergency medical care.

Avoid this

Vicks babyrub should not be used on the eyes.
