What is Systane Ultra?

There are numerous types and brands of ocular fluid available, and there are a few that are not listed in this document.  Systane Ultra is used by adults to ease irritation, burning, and discomfort caused by dry eyes.  Systane Ultra can be used for other purposes not covered in this medication guide.

Side effects of Systane Ultra

See a doctor immediately. Get medical attention immediately if you notice symptoms that indicate an allergic reaction, like hives, trouble breathing, or swelling of your lips, face, or tongue.  Stop taking Systane Ultra and call your doctor if you experience intense burning, stinging, or eye irritation following the use of the medication; eye discomfort; or eye pain.

  • Vision alters.

Common adverse consequences associated with Systane Ultra may include mild eye burning or irritation, itching, or the appearance of redness in your eyes.

  • Eyes with watery eyes
  • Blurred vision or sensitivity to light

Warnings

You shouldn't utilise Systane Ultra for treatment or to prevent eye infections.

Before you take this drug

You shouldn't use Systane Ultra if you are sensitive to it. This medication will not help treat or prevent eye infections.

Talk to a pharmacist or doctor about whether it's safe to take Systane Ultra if you have any kind of eye infection inside your eye.  Inform your doctor if you are nursing or pregnant.

How to take Systane Ultra?

Follow all instructions on the prescription label and read the medication guide or instructions sheets. Make sure you use the medication exactly as prescribed.  Cleanse your hands prior to applying Systane Ultra.  Don't use Systane Ultra, and call your pharmacy if the medication appears cloudy or changes color.  Don't touch the edge of the dropper ointment tube. Do not place it directly on the eye. Contamination of the tip could affect your eye and cause severe vision issues.  Consult your doctor if your symptoms don't improve or if they become worse after using Systane Ultra.  Keep at room temperature, away from heat and moisture.

What happens If I miss the dose?

Systane Ultra is used when it is required. If you're on a schedule for dosing, take a break from any dose missed. Do not take two doses at the same time.

What happens If I overdose?

Ocular lubricant overdose isn't likely to pose a risk. Take immediate medical attention or contact the Poison Help line at 1-800-222-1222 in the event that someone has accidentally swallowed the drug.

What should be avoided?

Systane Ultra can create blurred eyes. Avoid driving or engaging in hazardous activities until you understand what the effects of this medication will be on your vision.  Do not take any other eye medication unless your doctor recommends it.

Interaction with other drugs

Eye medicine will not be affected by other medications that you are taking. However, many medications can interact with each other. Inform your doctor about the medicines you are currently taking, such as prescription and over-the-counter drugs, vitamins, and herbal supplements.
