What is Sporanox pulsepak?

Sporanox pulsepak treats infections caused by fungi in adults. This includes infections of any part, including the lungs or mouth, fingernails, or toenails.

Certain brands of itraconazole should not be used to treat fungal infections in the nails or fingernails. Use only the brand of medication and strength prescribed by your doctor to avoid medication mistakes. This medication guide does not list all possible uses for Sporanox.

Side effects of Sporanox pulsepak

If you experience any of the following symptoms of an allergic reaction, seek immediate medical attention: hives; severe skin rash; tingling or numbness in your arms and legs; difficulty breathing; swelling on your face, lips, or tongue; or swelling of your throat.

Sporanox pulsepak should be stopped immediately if you experience any of the following: Feeling tired or short-of-breath, mucusy cough, rapid heartbeats or swelling, rapid weight gain, or sleep issues

Continue to take Sporanox pulsepak, but contact your doctor immediately if:

  • A feeling of confusion or light-headedness (as if you could pass out);
  • Double vision, blurred vision, ringing ears, hearing problems
  • Fast heartbeats;
  • Loss of bladder control, tingling, or numbness;
  • There is little or no urinating; there may be pain or burning in the urinal area.
  • Low sodium level: leg cramps, constipation, abnormal heartbeats, or irregular heartbeats;
  • Pancreatitis: severe pain spreading from your upper stomach to your back and nausea or vomiting
  • Liver problems: nausea, upper stomach discomfort, fatigue, loss of appetite, dark urine, clay-colored stools, and jaundice.

Sporanox pulsepak side effects may include:

  • Headache, dizziness, drowsiness, tiredness;
  • Increased blood pressure
  • Rash, itching;
  • Nausea, vomiting, stomach pain, diarrhea, constipation;
  • Swelling;
  • Atypical liver function or blood test results;
  • Fever, joint, or muscle pain
  • Unusual or unpleasant taste in the mouth
  • Hair loss;
  • Impotence, problems with erection
  • Changes in your menstrual cycle

Warnings

Sporanox pulsepak should not be taken if you've ever suffered from heart failure. If liver or kidney disease is present, do not use Sporanox pulsepak in conjunction with colchicine or fesoterodine. Do not get pregnant while taking Sporanox pulsepak or for two months after your last dose.

Sporanox pulsepak can cause life-threatening side effects when taken with other medications. Inform your doctor of all the medications you are taking and those that you have started or stopped using.

Before you take this drug

This medicine should not be taken if your allergic reaction to Sporanox or other similar medications such as ketoconazole or fluconazole is severe or you have had congestive cardiac failure in the past.

Sporanox pulsepak can cause serious side effects if taken with other medications. If you have taken other medications in the last 2 weeks, your doctor may alter your treatment plan.

  • Avanafil;
  • Cisapride;
  • Eliglustat;
  • Irinotecan;
  • Isavuconazonium;
  • Methadone;
  • Naloxegol;
  • Ranolazine;
  • Ticagrelor;
  • Lurasidone (an antipsychotic medication) or pimozide
  • Lomitapide, lovastatin, and simvastatin (cholesterol-lowering medicines);
  • Dihydroergotamine, ergonovine, ergotamine, or methylergonovine (ergot medicines);
  • Eplerenone (heart or blood-pressure medicines);
  • Disopyramide (medicines to treat heart rhythm disorders);
  • Oral midazolam, or triazolam, is a sedative similar to Valium.

If liver or kidney disease is present, do not take Sporanox pulsepak if you are taking colchicine, fesoterodine, or solifenacin.

Sporanox pulsepak can harm an unborn child. Prevent pregnancy by using effective contraception while taking this medication and for 2 months following your last dose. As soon as you discover you've become pregnant, notify your physician immediately.

Tell your doctor about any of the following:

  • Heart problems
  • Lung diseases such as cystic fibrosis
  • Liver or kidney disease
  • A weak immune system.

Breastfeeding may not be possible while taking this medication. You should consult your doctor if you are concerned about any risks.

How to take Sporanox pulsepak?

Learn to read and follow all instructions included with your medication. Follow the directions on the label. Sporanox pulsepak should not be shared with anyone else, even if the other person has similar symptoms. Take the Sporanox pulsepak cap with food.

Do not open, crush, chew, or break the capsule. Sporanox oral solution (liquid) should be taken on an empty stomach at least one hour before or two hours after eating. Swish the liquid around in your mouth for a few seconds before swallowing. Measuring liquid medicine is important. Use the provided dosing device or a dose-measuring tool (not a spoon).

Sporanox pulsepak comes with a special schedule of dosing that involves not taking it for several consecutive days. Please follow all instructions for dosage. If your doctor prescribes itraconazole liquid solution, you should not use Sporanox pulsepak. To avoid medication errors, only use the strength and form prescribed by your doctor. Sporanox pulsepak can be taken with a non-diet drink such as cola if you are also taking a stomach acid-reducing medication (Tagamet or Pepcid).

Even if you feel better quickly, continue to take this medication for the entire prescribed time. Skipping doses could result in an infection resistant to your medications. Sporanox pulsepak does not treat a virus, such as a cold or flu. You may require frequent medical tests. Store at room temperature, away from moisture, heat and light.

What happens if I miss the dose?

If it is almost time for your next dose, disregard any missed ones and do not take them at the same time. Never double up on medications at once.

What happens if I overdose?

Call 1-800-222-1222 for poison help or seek immediate medical attention.

What should be avoided?

Do not drive or engage in hazardous activities until you have determined how Sporanox pulsepak will impact you. You could have impaired reactions. Sporanox pulsepak should not be taken within 2 hours of taking an antacid. Some antacids may make it more difficult for your body to absorb this medicine.

Interaction with other drug

It is sometimes not safe to take certain medications together. Some drugs may affect the blood levels of drugs that you are taking, causing side effects or making them less effective.

Sporanox pulsepak can be affected by many drugs. Some drugs shouldn't be taken together. Inform your doctor of all the medicines you are currently taking and those that you have started or stopped using. Included are prescription and non-prescription medicines, vitamins, and herbal products. This list does not include all possible interactions.
