What is Sinex severe?

Oxymetazoline shrinks the blood vessels of the nasal passages. Nasal congestion can be caused by dilated blood vessels.

Sinex severe is a nasal spray that provides temporary relief from nasal congestion caused by allergies, the common cold, or other causes. Sinex severe can be used in other ways not mentioned in this guide.

Side effects of Sinex severe

If you experience any of the following signs and symptoms of an allergic reaction: hives, difficulty breathing, swelling of lips, face, tongue or throat and difficulty swallowing. Seek medical help immediately!

Sinex severe can cause serious side effects. Sinex severe should be stopped immediately, and you should consult your doctor if:

  • Symptoms that persist or worsen;
  • After using nasal spray, you may experience severe burning or stinging.
  • Chest pain is characterised by a fast or irregular heartbeat.
  • Anxiety, confusion, or a severe headache can all be symptoms of anxiety.

Before you take this drug

If you have an allergy to sinex severe, then it is best not to use the product.

How to take Sinex severe?

Do not exceed the recommended dosage or duration. Use only the recommended dosage. Never go beyond it! If you use the medication for too long or too frequently, it may cause your nasal congestion to improve and then return. If your symptoms persist after three days of treatment, call your doctor.

This medication should not be shared with anyone else, even if the other person has similar symptoms. Shared nasal spray bottles can spread an infection.

Use the nasal solution (nose drops):

  • Blow your nose softly. Lean your head as far back as you can or hang your head from the bed. Place the correct amount of drops in your nose by holding the dropper above your nose.
  • Sit up, bend your head forward slightly, and then gently move it left and right. For a few moments, keep your head bowed forward while seated.
  • After using the nasal drops, avoid sneezing and blowing your nose.

How to use nasal spray

  • Blow your nose softly. Insert the bottle tip into one nostril while keeping your head up. Close the other nostril with your finger. Inhale quickly and spray the medicine gently into your nose. Use the spray on your other nostril.
  • After using nasal spray, do not blow your nose.

Use the nasal spray no more than twice in 24 hours. Do not use soap or water to wash the spray bottle tip. Store away from moisture or heat at room temperature. Store at room temperature, away from moisture and heat. When not in use, keep the bottle tightly sealed.

What happens if i miss the dose?

As soon as you recall, take the missed dose. If your next scheduled dosage is approaching, skip the missed dose. You should not take extra medicine to compensate for a missed dose.

Sinex severe should be kept out of reach of children. Some nasal medications may cause serious medical issues in young children who accidentally swallow or suck on the medicine.

What should be avoided?

Interaction with other drug

If you also take any of these drugs, ask your doctor or pharmacist whether it's safe to use sinex severe.

  • An antidepressant—amitriptyline, clomipramine, desipramine, doxepin, imipramine, nortriptyline;
  • Ergot medicine—ergotamine, dihydroergotamine, ergonovine, methylergonovine; or
  • An mao inhibitor—isocarboxazid, linezolid, phenelzine, rasagiline, selegiline, and tranylcypromine.

Sinex severe may interact with other drugs not listed here. Inform your doctor of all the medications you take. Included are prescription, over-the-counter, vitamin, and herbal products. Never start a new medicine without consulting your doctor.
