What is Siltussin-DM DAS-NA?

Dextromethorphan works as a cough suppressant. Guaifenesin works as an expectorant. Siltussin (DM DAS NA) is a combination medication used to treat coughs and chest congestion due to the common flu or allergies.

Dextromethorphan does not treat a cough caused by cigarette smoking. This leaflet does not list all the brands or forms of medication that are available. Siltussin DAS-NA can be used in other ways not mentioned in this guide.

Side effects of Siltussin-DM, DAS-NA

If you experience any of the following signs of an allergic reaction: hives, difficulty breathing or facial/throat swelling. Seek immediate medical assistance.

Siltussin DAS-NA can cause serious side effects. Siltussin DM DAS NA should be stopped immediately, and you should consult your doctor if:

  • Mood changes
  • Headache or severe
  • Feeling like you could pass out or dizziness;

Side effects of Siltussin DAS-NA include:

Warnings

If you've taken an MAO inhibitor in the last 14 days (such as isocarboxazid or linezolid), you should not take this medication.

Before you take this drug

Siltussin DAS-NA should not be used if an MAO inhibitor has been taken within the last 14 days. A dangerous medication interaction may occur. MAO inhibitors are isocarboxazid (linezolid), methylene blue injection, rasagiline, and selegiline.

If you suffer from:

  • A cough that produces mucus
  • Asthma, emphysema, or chronic lung disease.

Consult your doctor before taking this medication if you're pregnant or breastfeeding. This medication may contain phenylalanine. If you have phenylketonuria, check the label of your medication.

How to take Siltussin DAS-NA DAS?

Keep to the instructions listed on your label or as instructed by your physician. Cold and cough medicines are only to be used for a short time until symptoms have cleared up. Follow the directions on the label when giving cough medicine or cold medicine. Do not give children cough and cold medicine as an aid to falling asleep.

Measuring liquid medicine is important. Use the provided dosing device or a dose-measuring tool (not a spoon) to measure liquid medicine. It may be necessary to shake the liquid prior to measuring a dose. Please follow all the instructions on the label.

Do not chew, crush, or break the extended-release tablet. The granules can be sprinkled directly on your tongue. Swallow immediately. As you take this medication, make sure to consume extra fluids in order to loosen congestion and soothe your throat. This may help the medication work more quickly and more effectively.

If your symptoms don't improve within 7 days or you experience a rash or a temperature, then call your doctor. Tell the surgeon if you've taken the medicine in the last few days and if you are going to need any kind of surgery. Store away from heat and moisture at room temperature.

What happens if I miss the dose?

Siltussin DAS-NA can be used as needed, and you don't need to follow a schedule. If it is almost time to take your next dose, skip any missed doses. Never take two doses in one go.

What should be avoided?

Siltussin DAS-NA can affect your reactions. Avoid driving and other hazardous activities until you are sure. You may be unable to react properly. Alcohol consumption can have side effects when taken with this medication.
