What is Senokot S?

Docusate is a stool softener. Senna has been identified as an effective laxative.Senokot S can be described as a mixture of medications used to treat occasional constipation.Senokot S may also be employed for other purposes that are not covered in this guideline.

Side effects of Senokot S

Senokot S may cause serious adverse effects. Take a break from Senokot S and call your doctor immediately. If you suffer from:

  • Bleeding in the rectal area;
  • Severe stomach pain, nausea, vomiting, or
  • No bowel movement.

Common adverse consequences associated with Senokot S may include:

  • Gas, bloating;
  • Diarrhea;
  • Mild nausea.

Prior to use this drug

It is not recommended to use Senokot S if you are intolerant of senna or docusate or are already taking mineral oils.

Consult a pharmacist or doctor for a recommendation on whether this medicine is suitable for you if you previously had:

  • Nausea or vomiting;
  • Stomach pain;
  • An abrupt change in the bowel habits of a person lasting 2 weeks or more;
  • An intestinal disorder like Crohn's disease as well as ulcerative colitis.

Consult a physician before using this medicine if you are nursing or pregnant.Don't give the medication to children under 2 years of age without medical guidance.

How to take Senokot S?

Follow the directions on the label or as directed by your physician.Take Senokot S and the full glasses of water.It is recommended to take this medication at night or in bed. Senokot S will result in an intestinal movement within 6 to 12 hours.

Take care not to use Senokot S for longer than seven days in a row unless your doctor advises you to.Consult your physician if your constipation doesn't improve or gets worse when you take Senokot S.Place it in a cool, dry place free of heat and moisture.

What happens if I miss the dose?

Because Senokot S is used when required, you might not be following a dose schedule. Don't miss any doses missed when it's time to take the next dose. Don't use two doses in one go.

What happens if I overdose?

For medical emergencies, seek emergency medical attention or contact for help at the Poison Helpline at 1-800-222-1222.

Overdose symptoms can include vomiting, nausea, stomach pain, and diarrhea.

What should be avoided?
