What is Selrx?

Selenium sulfide is a medicine that combats fungus. It helps prevent the growth of fungus on the skin.selrx (for the skin) is used to treat dandruff, seborrhea, and dandruff, along with tinea versicolor (a fungal infection that causes discoloration of your skin).selrx can be used for other purposes not covered in this guideline.

Side effects of Selrx

Contact a medical professional immediately. If you notice any of the following symptoms, they are warning signs of an allergic reaction: an allergic reaction that causes hives; difficulty breathing; or swelling of your lips, face, and tongue.Stop taking selenium sulfur and consult your physician if you experience extreme or unusual blisters, itching, dryness, peeling, redness, or irritation on the skin treated.

Prior to use this drug

Selrx is not recommended for use if you have an allergy to selenium sulfur.FDA pregnant category C. It is not clear whether selrx could affect a baby who is not yet born. Inform your doctor if you are pregnant or planning to get pregnant while taking the medication.It isn't known if selenium sulfide in the topical gets into breast milk or if it is harmful to the nursing infant. Consult your physician if you are breastfeeding a child.

Selrx is not recommended to be administered to a child younger than 2 years without the advice of a physician.

How to take Selrx?

Follow the directions indicated on the label or as directed by your physician. Avoid using the medicine in greater quantities or for longer periods than prescribed.Shake the selenium sulfur foam lotion as well as shampoo thoroughly prior to every use.Clean your hands after putting on foam or lotion. Foam or lotion.Rinse your shampoo thoroughly. Don't leave it on your hair for a long time. Selrx shampoo is usually not suitable for use every day.Follow the directions printed on your label, or the guidelines from your physician.

Take this medication for the prescribed duration. Your symptoms may worsen before your disease is fully cleared.Consult your physician if your symptoms don't improve or if they get worse after using selrx.Do not cover your skin with a bandage or any other dressing unless your physician has advised you to. A thin cotton-gauze bandage can be used to shield clothing.

Keep it at room temperature, free of heat and moisture. Make sure to keep your canister in a foam canister out of the reach of open flames and avoid cutting the can.

What happens if I miss the dose?

Take the dose you missed as soon as you remember. If it's almost time to take your next dose, you should wait until the time is right to take the medicine and then skip the dose you missed. Do not use any extra medicine to replace the missed dose.

What happens if I overdose?

A dose of selrx isn't likely to be a danger. You should seek medical attention in an emergency or contact the Poison Helpline at 1-800-222-1222 in the event that someone has swallowed the drug accidentally.

What should be avoided?

Beware of getting selrx into your nose, eyes, mouth, rectum, or vagina. If it gets into one of these places, clean it out with water. Avoid using selrx on sunburned or windburned areas, as well as on dry, cracked, chapped, or damaged skin.

Avoid covering areas of the skin that are treated with synthetic clothing that has tight fittings that don't allow air circulation. Wear loose-fitting clothing made from cotton or other natural fibers until the wound is completely healed.

Interaction with other drugs

Do not use other topical medicines when you apply selrx unless your physician is in agreement with it. Other skin medications can alter the absorption and effectiveness of topical selenium sulfide.
