What is Rocklatan?

Rocklatan is a combination medication used to treat open-angle glaucoma and other causes of increased pressure in the eye. Rocklatan can be used in other ways not mentioned in this guide.

Side effects of Rocklatan

If you experience any of the following signs and symptoms of an allergic reaction: hives, difficulty breathing or swelling in your face, lips or throat - seek medical assistance immediately!

Latanoprost can cause serious side effects. If you experience:

  • Eye swelling, redness, and discomfort (which may be symptoms of infection)
  • Itchy, red, or swollen eyelids
  • Vision changes
  • Rocklatan can cause severe irritation, burning, or stinging.

Rocklatan side effects may include:

  • Eye pain after using eye drops
  • Eye redness;
  • Changes to the surface of your eye can be observed on an eye examination but will not affect your vision.

Warnings

Before you take this drug

Rocklatan should not be used if you have an allergy to latanoprost or Netarsudil.

Inform your physician if any of the following apply to you:

  • You may experience swelling or infection of your eye.
  • Damage to the surface (also known as the cornea) of your eye
  • Herpes infection in the eyes
  • Eye surgery or an injury to the lens of your eyes

Latanoprost may cause gradual changes in your eye color or the color of your eyelids and eyelashes. This is usually a brown pigment increase. You may notice an increase in the length or thickness of your eyelashes. You may not notice these changes for several months or even years. Even after treatment, color changes can be permanent. They may only affect the eye that was treated. It could cause a cosmetic change in the eyelash or eye color of one eye compared to another. Rocklatan should not be used by anyone under the age of 18. Notify your doctor immediately if you become pregnant or breastfeeding.

How to take Rocklatan?

Read all instructions or guides that come with your medication and follow all directions. Follow the directions on the label. This medicine should be taken as prescribed by your doctor. You can usually use 1 drop in the affected eye each evening. Do not forget to follow your doctor's instructions. If you are planning to have surgery on your eyes or have an eye infection or injury, you should tell your doctor immediately. Use only when wearing soft lenses. This medicine contains a preservative that could permanently stain lenses. Use the medication at least 15 minutes prior to inserting your lenses. Before using eye medications, wash your hands.

Applying eye drops is as simple as tilting your head back and pulling down your lower eyelid. Squeeze a few drops into the pocket created by holding the dropper over the eye. Close your eyes for a minute or two. Only use the prescribed number of drops. Wait at least five minutes before applying any other eye drops prescribed by your doctor. Avoid touching the tip or placing it directly on your eye. If the dropper is contaminated, it can cause serious vision problems. Store it in the fridge. Store it in the refrigerator. When not in use, keep the bottle tightly shut.

What happens if I miss the dose?

Do not use extra medicine to make up for a missed dose. You should not take extra medicine to compensate for a missed dose.

What happens if I overdose?

Overdoses of rocklatan are not considered dangerous. If anyone accidentally swallows the medication, seek emergency medical care or call Poison Help at 1-800-222-1222.

What should be avoided?

Rocklatan can be less effective if you use too much. You should only use eye drops prescribed by your doctor.

Interaction with other drug

Other drugs that you take are unlikely to affect the medicine used on your eyes. Many drugs interact with each other. Inform your healthcare provider about the medicines you take, including any prescription or over-the-counter medications, vitamins, and herbal remedies.
