What is Reguloid?

Reguloid, a fiber-forming laxative, is used for occasional constipation and bowel irregularities.When combined with a low-cholesterol and saturated-fat diet, reguloid can also lower cholesterol.This medication guide does not list all possible uses for reguloid.

Side effects of Reguloid

If you experience any of the following symptoms of an allergic reaction, seek immediate medical attention: difficulty breathing, hives, swelling of the face, lips, or throat.

Reguloid may cause serious side effects. If you experience:

  • Constipation lasting more than seven days
  • Rectal bleeding
  • Severe stomach pain.

Reguloid side effects may include:

  • Bloating
  • Minor changes in your bowel habits

Before you take this drug

Reguloid should not be taken if you've ever experienced an allergic reaction.

You may have any of these conditions:

  • Stomach pain, nausea, or vomiting;
  • Trouble swallowing
  • A sudden change in bowel habits lasting more than two weeks

This medication may contain sodium, sugar, or phenylalanine. If you suffer from diabetes, high blood pressure, or phenylketonuria, you should check the label of your medication.You may need a different dose during pregnancy or nursing.Reguloid should not be given to children younger than six years of age without consulting a doctor.

How to take Reguloid?

You can follow the directions on the package or the prescription of your doctor.If laxatives are used frequently or for a long time, they can become habit-forming.If you do not take enough liquid with your reguloid, it can cause swelling in the throat. To improve bowel regularity, drink plenty of liquids every day.Take Reguloid along with 8 ounces of water or another liquid.Take one capsule of Reguloid at a time.Before taking Reguloid, you must mix it with liquid. The dry powder should not be swallowed. Mix the powder with 8 ounces or more of liquid, such as fruit juice or water. Mix well, and consume the mixture immediately. Pour a little water into the glass and swirl it gently. Drink immediately.Reguloid can cause a bowel motion within 12 to 72 hours.Reguloid should not be taken for more than seven days without consulting a doctor. Too much laxative use can cause serious medical issues with your intestines.

If your symptoms don't improve or worsen, call your doctor.Reguloid is only one part of an overall treatment program that includes exercise, diet, and weight management. You should follow your doctor's advice.Keep away from heat or moisture. When not in use, keep the container tightly sealed.

What happens if I miss the dose?

Reguloid can be used as needed, and you don't need to follow a schedule.Skip the missed dose if it's almost time to take your next dose.

What should be avoided?

When mixing Reguloid, avoid breathing in dust. This medicine dust can cause allergic reactions if inhaled.Avoid eating high-fat or cholesterol-rich foods if you are taking Reguloid to lower your cholesterol. Otherwise, the treatment may not be as successful.

Interaction with other drug

Reguloid may make it more difficult for your body to absorb other medications you take orally, reducing their effectiveness. Take any oral medications 2 hours before taking this medicine or 2 hours afterwards.Reguloid may be affected by other drugs, such as vitamins and herbal remedies. Tell your doctor about all medications you take, including those you start or stop using.
